Can not install my trackmania from cd onto my computer

Unless your OS, security settings or User privileges prohibit or block your software installation, you can try copying the installation files from the CD to your hard drive & run it from that location.
If your OS blocks it initially, right click on the installation folder & click 'Properties'. If it's blocked you can either 'Unblock' or 'Allow' it to run & click APPLY before you click OK.
Run your installation again & then, you're on your own...haha!
Try it, Jack!
PS > It's always a good idea to install software after making sure your hard drive's files are compact, not heavily fragmented. This is to minimize glitches or errors that may occur when you use it. (^_')b

Manually manage computer memory loadTOCNode(3, 'moreinformation'); When your computer's physically installed random-access memory (RAM) is running low, Windows adds available memory by using a paging file, generally known as virtual memory, on the hard disk to simulate physical RAM. By default, the virtual memory paging file that is created during installation is 1.5 times the physical RAM on your computer. Therefore, a computer that has 1GB of installed RAM will have 1.5GB of virtual memory.

You can manually change the size of the paging file to make it larger or smaller. You can also optimize virtual memory use by dividing the file space between multiple drives and by removing allocated space from slow or heavily accessed drives. To optimize your virtual memory space, divide it among as many physical hard drives as possible. When you select drives, follow these guidelines:
  • Try to avoid having a paging file on the same drive as the system files, usually drive C.
  • Avoid putting a paging file on a fault-tolerant drive such as a mirrored volume or a RAID-5 volume. Paging files do not require fault tolerance, and some fault-tolerant computers experience slow data writes because they write data to multiple locations.
  • Do not put multiple paging files on different partitions on the same physical disk drive.
How to manually change the size of the virtual memory paging file loadTOCNode(4, 'moreinformation'); You must be logged on as an administrator or as a member of the administrator's group to complete this procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from completing this procedure.

To manually change the size of virtual memory, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl in the Open box, and then press ENTER.
  2. Click the Advanced tab, and then under Performance click Settings.
  3. Click the Advanced tab, and then under Virtual memory click Change.
  4. Under Drive [Volume Label], click the drive that contains the paging file that you want to change.
  5. Under Paging file size for selected drive, click Custom size, type a new paging file size in megabytes (MB) in the Initial size (MB) or Maximum size (MB) box, and then click Set.
  6. Click OK to close the dialog box and apply changes.
Note After you change the size of the paging file, you may be prompted to restart Windows. If you are prompted to restart, the changes will not take effect until Windows is restarted.

Notes
  • To have Windows select the best paging file size, click System managed size. The recommended minimum size is the same as 1.5 times the RAM on your computer, and 3 times that figure for the maximum size. For example, if you have 256 MB of RAM, the minimum size is 384 MB, and the maximum size is 1152 MB.
  • For best performance, do not set the initial size to less than the minimum recommended size under Total paging file size for all drives. The recommended size is the same as 1.5 times the RAM on your computer. It is good practice to leave the paging file at its recommended size as performance can decrease if a paging file is too large. However, you may increase its size if you frequently use programs that use lots of memory, such as graphics programs or games.
  • We strongly recommend that you do not disable or delete the paging file because this can lessen the computer's performance. However, if you decide to delete a paging file, set both the initial size and the maximum size to zero, or click No paging file.
How to manually optimize the memory usage loadTOCNode(4, 'moreinformation'); You can optimize your computer's memory usage to reflect your specific needs. If your computer is used as a workstation instead of as a server, you can increase performance by devoting more memory to your programs. Your programs will work faster and the system cache size will remain the default size that was included with Windows XP. Or, you can set aside more computer memory for a larger system cache if your computer is used primarily as a server, or if you use programs that require a large system cache.
  1. Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl in the Open box, and then press ENTER.
  2. Click the Advanced tab, and then under Performance click Settings.
  3. Click the Advanced tab, and then under Memory usage use one of the following methods:
    • Click Programs if you use your computer primarily as a workstation instead of as a server. This option allocates more memory to your programs.
    • Click System cache if your computer is used primarily as a server or if you use programs that use a large system cache.
  4. Click OK to save preferences and close the dialog box.

Delete the existing Logitech software using Revo
Close all other programs while uninstalling, downloading and uploading
Download Revo - double click on Logitech - You may have more than one program installed - Use the 'Advanced' mode - Revo will make a Restore Point and then uninstall Logitech using the Logitech uninstall software.
It will then scan your C drive and Registry for all fragments and files that failed to uninstall.
Delete everything it finds
http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html
Remember that Revo uses the Logitech uninstaller initially - when it finishes LOGITECH may ask you to restart the computer - Ignore this command and let Revo do its scan - Only act on the Revo commands.
Download 'ccleaner' and run it through a couple of times, using the factory settings and the 'Run Cleaner' control until 0 bytes are seen to be cleaned following a scan
Run the 'Registry' from the left hand toolbar but 'Save' any changes before repairing
http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
Re-start your computer

Visit the Logitech website and browse the photo gallery for your model and click on the photo to navigate to the support page.
Note - Older models on page 2 - look for the link at the bottom right of page 1 and click on it "Still can't find your product?"

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/405/&cl=us,en?prodcrid=405

In addition to the Logitech installer you will need to check the support software - Microsoft DirectX . This comes pre-loaded on most Windows computers but has to be updated - I am currently on version 11
To start the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, click 'Start', click 'Run', type dxdiag in the Open box, and then click OK
Run through the tabs checking the 'notes' windows for information
The version will be shown on the 'Systems' tab

Procedure to re-install Logitech software
Close all programs while uninstalling - downloading and uploading software
Disconnect your webcam
Download the Installation package from Logitech
Run the installer and choose your options during the installation - You may not want Logitech Chat but the Desktop icon for the webcam toolbar is a must.
Connect your webcam when prompted.

My farkle game will not come up. the page shows all the normal stuff except for the big square in the middle of the page that u click on to actually play the game isnt there. its just a big blank but still...

If everything worked before and suddenly they just don't work now. . .
Simply go to SYSTEM RESTORE, and restore your PC to a time when everything worked. Restore will not delete your personal files, BUT your should SAVE VERY IMPORTANT STUFF to either a DVD or a CD-Rom Disk, BEFORE you run RESTORE.
If the first PICKED DATE in RESTORE doesn't fix it. Undo that restore point and pick another. Keep doing this untill you get to a place BEFORE your troubles STARTED. Some automatic updates erase small drivers and sometimes after an automatic update, things stop working. Especially true for security updates, that SUDDENLY BLOCK A PROGRAM, that was NOT BLOCKED before that updaste. So you might want to check you firewall settings to see if Facebook is blocked. The facebook site is: (static.ak.fbcdn.net) the farkle site is : (8.12.42.51) If either one is blocked, they will not work. Also add these sites to your TRUSTED SITES in Internet Options and to your TRUSTED COOKIES under (privacy) in Internet Options for cookies click ALLOW. For Your Trusted sites, you may need to uncheck the box at the bottom.

How can I block seeing all the games my friends play on Facebook?

Step 1 : To block the unwanted Facebook game updates from your News Feed, log into your Facebook account.

Step 2 : Go to a post in your News Feed that contains an update from a friend on a Facebook online game. For instance, go to a FarmVille update.

Hover your mouse pointer over the update. You will notice that the word "Hide" and a small arrow appears in the upper right-hand corner of the message. Click on the arrow.

Step 3 : A small drop down box will appear giving you the choice to Hide this friend, or just "Hide FarmVille". Let's say you really like this friend, but you just don't want to know every time they lose a cow or plant more corn, so click on "Hide FarmVille".

You will see a message where the FarmVille post used to be that says, "Farmville has been hidden from your News Feed. In the future, you won't see posts from FarmVille."

There, you've done it! You've removed all present and future FarmVille posts from your well-meaning friends. And of course, this works for any Facebook Online Game that you don't want to hear about anymore - Enjoy!

Step 4 : If for some reason you change your mind and want to bring FarmVille back, go down to the bottom of your News Feed. At the bottom right of all your posts, you will see "Edit Options". Click on this, and a list will pop up showing all your blocked Games. Click on "Add To News Feed", and the game updates will be returned to your Facebook page until the cows come home, or you change your mind again!

How to increase Virtual Memory?

In Windows XP
1.Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2.Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System.
3.On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.
4.On the Advanced tab, under Virtual memory, click Change.
5.Under Drive [Volume Label], click the drive that contains the paging file that you want to change.
6.Under Paging file size for selected drive, click to Custom size check box. You can enter the amount of memory you would like to reserve for Virtual memory by entering the initial and maximum size.
7.Click Set
When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
Special Note: You should choose the same amount for the initial size and maximum size. This will Stop your CPU from constantly changing the paging file.

HOT TIP: To stop your CPU from constantly changing the paging file, set the initial and maximum size to the same value. For example, 500 and 500. The value should be at least 1.5 times more than your physical RAM. If your computer has 512MB of RAM increase the virtual memory paging file to 1.5*512= 768

In Vista

1. Click Start button Picture of the Start button
2. Click Control Panel
3. Choose System and Maintenance and then click System.
4. In the left pane, click Advanced system settings.
5.On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.
6. Click the Advanced tab, and then, under Virtual memory, choose Change.
7. Click Custom to change the Initial size (MB) and Maximum size. See the hot tip above.

Remember to choose the drive you would like to use to increase the virtual memory. In most cases it usually your C: Drive. You can set the initial size and maximum size after clicking the Custom size check box.Remember its better to keep the Virtual memory values the same.

Also having enough available space is absolutely necessary for your virtual memory and RAM to function properly.

You can still try to make the game compatible for installing it on the Windows Vista by following the steps below.

1. Insert the game disc in your CD-ROM drive, if the game setup or the autorun starts, exit it.

2. Open "Computer", Right Click the Cd Drive which has the game disk in it and select "Copy".

3. Go to your "Desktop" right click and then select "New" and click on "Folder" this should create a new folder on your desktop.

4. Open the New Folder and then Right Click and select "Paste".

6. After all the files are copied to the "New Folder" without any error messages then locate the file "Setup.exe" or "Setup" and right click and click on "Properties".

7. In the new window click on the "Compatibility" tab and run the program in compatibility mode for "Windows XP Service Pack 2" and then click on "Apply".

8. After applying changes double click on "Setup.exe" or "Setup" to launch the installation.

You can delete all the files copied from the CD after completing the installation

The game files need to be copied to the hard drive because the files on the game disk would not let you make changes while on the disk.

After the game is successfully installed right click on the game shortcut or the game "AOM.exe" in the root folder of the game and click and click on "Properties".

In the new window click on the "Compatibility" tab and run the program in compatibility mode for "Windows XP Service Pack 2" and then click on "Apply". (You can also try with the other options also)

The game files need to be copied to the hard drive because the files on the game disk would not let you make changes while on the disk.

The same set of steps can be used for installation of older games installation on Windows Vista.
