Most motors have a thermal protector and it may have opened up. Usually it is right by the motor, connected to the motor.

My vax pet Hoover has lost its suction I've emptied it there's no blockages and Iv cleaned the filter

first, if it has a hose check for being plugged, you may have to take the vacuum apart further till you reach the fan on motor which may have hair, lint, etc wrapped around it which can cause low suction.

How do i fix dyson DC41 Animal vacuum upright cleaner it has burning smell coming from motor and it blew the fuse box when i WENT TO VACUUM. the wire flex is a bit over twisted

You most certainly shorted this out and will need a new cord. Easy fix but you will have to take it apart and find where it failed. I doubt the motor fried but it is possible. When you take it apart look for the burn mark left by the electrical arc. That is the point you fix.

VAX vacuum stops working after about five minuits use then I have to wait an hour before it will work again

The symptoms you describe are those of a machine that is overheating. Almost certainly there is a blockage somewhere, or one or more filters are clogged, thus impairing air flow. Clear the blockage and the problem should be solved. If this doesn't help, please post details of the model number of your machine and I'll try to be more precise. I hope this helps. I value your feedback so please remember to rate my response.

Vax 2400 performance pet overheating

Unfortunately there is no permanent solution. It is a terrible vacuum cleaner and im getting rid of mine today. I have been maintaining it for 6 months cleaning filters , swapping filters, swapping carbon brushes all to no avail.Dump it. it would'nt **** the air out of a balloon.

Vax v-60P turboforce pet bagless upright 2000w

hi phoned vax today.. they said there's definately NOT a problem with that particuliar model. I now have to send the 2nd cleaner back to them to repair...If this problem occurs again they will replace it with another model!!!
so watch this space!!!
I think having two vacs blow up is too much of a coincidence!
I have been using vacs for nearly 40 years & I've never had this happen before!
If Anyone comes across the same problem I would appreciate you letting me know.
Thanks for your time
Liz
