If the engine is good the measureed compression with a good quike pull and the throttle wide open it should mbe above 100 PSI. The problem can be the ring is upside down ( it will goo in wrong) The cyclinder base gasket is blown ( the old gasket wasn't cleaned off well enought or thiers scraches where the gaskets need to seal) If the old system blew up cause of lack of oil then the crankshaft seal could be blown as the pressure below the cyclinder is just as important as the pressure at the spark plug. It's possible that there's a hole in the piston and the common place to find it is under the piston ring. The piston if it's scuffed enough might not fit the cyclinder well enough even though the ring is new and may have to be replaced too. Most liner jobs I've done I change the cyclinder with a jug kit that's the cyclinder with a piston, with rings pin and gaskets, it's all put together and all you do is put the pin though the top of the rod and bolter down and cranker up. they work good this way.

It realy depends on how much oil is around the piston, and in the bore, however you should be getting over 100 psi

Do engine cylinder compresion test on all cyliders, possible ring failure.

Smoke coming out of tailpipe

From youe description the problem with this smoke (white/grey smoke) is oil getting into the combustion chambers through worn valve guides or worn piston rings. Worn piston rings can be checked by using compression tests on eash cyclinder.
Worn valve guides require the cyclinder head to be removed to replace valve guides.
Worn piston rings requires a major engine overhaul and in this case it maybe better to get a reconditioned engine.

Compresion in sump

HI I THINK IT IS BEST TO FIRST SHECK THE COMPRESION IN THE CYLINDERS, USING A COMPRESION TESTER FITED INTO THE SPARK PLUG HOLE, SPIN OVER THE ENGINE AND CHECK THE READING RECORDING IT, ON PAPER FOR EACH CYLINDER WHEN YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS ON ALL 4 CYLINDERS CHECK OVER YOUR RECORDED NOTES, IT IS NOT ALWAYS LIKELY THE READINGS WILL BE AS SPECIFIED IN THE WORKSHOP MANUAL AS A BIKE OF 10 YEARS OLD WOULD HAVE LOST SOME OF ITS ORIGINAL COMPRESION, BUT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A READING SIMILAR ON ALL 4 CYLINDERS, IF 1 IS SIGNIFICANTLY LESS THEN YOU COULD HAVE A PROBLEM WHERE THE PISTON OR PISTON RINGS HAVE FAILED, 1ST TRY THE AFORE MENTIONED CHECK BEFORE YOU START GETTING INVOLVED IN ANY EXPENSIVE REBUILD, IF YOU WERE TO REMOVE THE ENGINE OIL FILLER AND RUN THE ENGINE, IT WOULD BE QUITE NORMAL TO EXPERIENCE SOME SORT OF PRESSURE HERE ALTHOUGH IT COULD GET MESSY AS OIL WILL EMERGE, HOPE THIS HELPS

My car doesn't have compresion in the engine,

did you use a compresion tester? If so do a dry test on each piston then a wet test. This is done by just hooking the tester to the spark-plug hole and testing it write the PSI down the put very little oil in the hole on the piston like a small squart from a oil can then re-connect the tester and re-peat the test if the number is higher the the dry test you have bad piston rings. If the number is the same the you need to pull the head or heads off and have them checked at a good mechine shop.

I was driving along in my 1994 2wd rodeo when it started blowing out think white smoke/steam out of the exaust. i think it might be a head gasket. there is no water in the oil and it was not heating up???...

White smoke indicates that oil is being burned. Could be a ring problem on one of the cylinders, or a valve guide gave out. MOst likely the cylinder ring.

you need to check to see if the piston is scored.pull the muffler off the saw and look inside.the piston is right there.if the piston is scored all you can do is change the piston and cylinder assembly.if the saw is new it might be under warranty.check with who you bought it from.most saws have a one year for consumer use.....let me know if this helped...................

The bike will still run even at 7:1 or a little lower, but the specifications call for about 10:1.
