Microsoft Knowledge Base
Article 971029
describes an update to Autorun that restricts AutoPlay
functionality to CD and DVD media. This update is intended to stop AutoPlay
functionality from working on USB drives, external hard drives, or network
shares. This update is available for supported editions of Windows XP, Windows
Server 2003, Windows Vista, and Windows Server 2008.

Removable USB/thumb drives use the Autorun feature to load files when the drives are plugged into the USB port. Malware exploits the Autorun feature to spread from thumb drive to PC. Disable the autorun feature to prevent malware from spreading.

The preceding describes what has likely happened to your USB ports due to Windows update disabling the autorun feature for USB thumbdrives. The thumbdrive may no longer present its data properly unless you manually invoke the autorun in its root.

The disabling of Autorun functionality in Windows was a security measure which unfortunately also disabled the proper operation of U3 smart drives which have the U3 Launch Pad to control portable applications. Realizing that some users are willing to accept the risks associated with Autorun, Microsoft has provided two Fix it wizards that users can use to either Enable Autorun or Disable Autorun. The downloading links to the wizards are in the middle of Microsoft Support Article ID 967715 How to disable the Autorun functionality in Windows which you can access by copying the following link into your browser's address field....http://support.microsoft.com/kb/967715

You can always use an external Hard drive enclosure whose SATA interface communicates with your computer using your USB ports... 1. Purchase/borrow the enclosure 2. Insert your Hard drive 3. Plug into your USB port 4. let the drivers install and begin migrating your data
I hope this has been informative...

Power ok but display not ok

I would suggest that initially you try the monitor on another computer or laptop first to rule out the display itself.

If you are using it on a laptop then just check you didn't accidental switch to another display (FN + F5) cycles through the displays.

If you are using it on a regular computer that has more than one monitor port then try it in the other ports first just in case it is set for an on-board display or in the case of a proper video card that it is not in the wrong port.

If The display is fine on another computer and it does not work on any of the ports then and only then should you look at checking out the display card.

First off you should switch off the computer and remove the card and then re-insert it and then re-check fora display.

Also listen carefully as you switch the computer on.
there may be beeping that would indicate the card itself may be at fault..

Try the flash drive in another computer, if it works then backup your data.
Files on a flash drive can be corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly.
Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon and then click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flash drive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove.
To restore the flash drive you may need to format the flash drive, but you will lose the data stored on the flash drive.
If you need the data on the flash drive these WEB sites may help: -

Printer doesn't work

Hi,

it seems to me that you might gotten the wrong driver install in your system.

error page - Position: )x42b (1067) System: h6fwaim_mono/xl_image Line: 132 Version: QPDL 5.04 04-25-2005

do a check on your OS version. Operating system. right click mycomputer icon -> properties.

download the correct version of driver from Samsung website again. uninstall the currect version and unplug the usb cable to the printer.

restart your system, install the downloaded correct version and plug in the usb cable to the printer. do a custom install to serach for the printer. if it does search the printer. it will show you. USB001. after install you will be prompt to do a test page. test on it to see it works.

if it does not work after downloading and install the driver. You might have a mainboad firmware corruption.

to run a firmware update is not easy it might course other major issue. only install by an trained Samsung Engineer.

Hope this Help :)
