Have you considered NOT connecting your camera to your computer?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. And even if you have to buy a card reader, it won't cost you any more than a new USB cord.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

I have a Nikon coolpix s200 digital camera and I cannot download pictures from the camera to my computer, what do I need to do?

A lot of people assume that they must use the cable and sofware that came with the camera in order to download their photos. The problem is that the cable/camera way is very problematic.
This link outlines the solution of the UDB card reader as an excellent alternative to that lost cable, lost software disc, or computer that just fails to recognize the camera, Also note that this method will be cheaper, quicker, and less error prone, than purchasing a new camera specific cable:

I have a vistaquest vq5115. i lost the coard adapter for my camera to the computer but my friend has a cable for her camera thats not the same as mine but the same adapter to the computer. I lost the disk...

As long as the cable ends match both the camera and the pc usb connection then the cable should work just fine. In fact there are universal usb cable kits available at most electronics stores. As to getting the pics from your camera to your computer... It depends on your operating system but most newer systems will read the camera as a portable media or a portable hard disk. So you would then be able to make the usb connections and then access the camera from your " My Computer" area assuming you have Windows.

Hi, the Largan uses a USB "A male"-to-"A male" cable. This is a fairly common cable, and can be bought, besides other places, from http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BSJFFC?tag=discountbuyz421-20

I lost the cable that hooks the camera to the computer.

Just get a multi card reader. It will plug into the a USB slot and show up in MY COMPUTER (PC). It will also allow you to read other types of media cards from other cameras. They are cheap at staples or best buy etc.. Easier to get than the cable. Also faster reading of the card. I have never used the cable to any digital camera.

USB cable is necessary to connect camera with computer.
Windows has inbuilt driver for this model and when camera will get connected with computer, Windows will recognize it and will install driver automatically.

I have lost the usb cable plut the disc on downloading photos from my vivitar 3650 camera to my computor can you help

I didn't see any software on vivtars website for you camera. I found the manual which is at this link:

http://www.vivitar.com/ecms.aspx/2907cbb7-14d3-4f32-aa39-f710357d66f6/SupportFiles/ViviCam3750.pdf

Drivers are not required for your camera unless you have Windows 98 installed.

You will probably have to order a new CD direct from Vivitar if you need software.

There are some programs for free that you can use if you want to transfer pictures to your computer and do a few simple editing features. Kodak has one. Adobe has one as well.

It doesn't show you in the book what the camera connector looks like. You can check with Vivitar on that. If the connector on your camera is D shaped they do sell USB cable with a standard D shaped end at most computer stores.
