SOURCE: How do you reset a 6 disc cd changer in 1999 VW Beetle?

1st just try unplugging the changer overnight. also check and see if a cd may be inserted into the cd mech itself.

SOURCE: Disc stuck in cd changer

there is a large gear on the top of the cd mech, turn it counterclockwise to put the cd back in the magazine. the changer will probably work after that.

Do you know the radio wiring colors for a 1996 jeep

you need a volt meter and 9v battery. then earth black contact from meter & then
  1. with ign off probe wire to find a live , thats the memory feed goes to yellow on radio
  2. with ign on probe wires that the constent live goes to red on radio
  3. when lights on probe wires thats the illumination feed (if fitted to car, but not used on many new radios
  4. then get 9v battery and with remaining wires pair and connect to battery, when speaker buzz's mark pair as they are ( ie front right rear left etc ) the speaker wires from the new radio are paired by colour ( one with black stripe with is the negative of the pair)
  5. there should be a ground/earth which if you cant find just hook one to the body/chassis

Hello - My 2001 VW New Beetle Monsoon radio reads "No Changer". What can I do to fix it?

Hi,
If it's saying "No Changer" then it's possible that one of the connections between the radio and the changer itself has become disconnected, a possible blown fuse or worse still the changer itself has failed.

First of all check the fuse box, make sure there are not any blown fuses there and if you have to refer to your VW manual if you got the CD multi-changer with the car.
Locate the changer itself and check that any leads has not become disconnected and check behind the radio itself to make sure nothing has become disconnected.
Once you have checked all connections on the radio and changer, and checked the fuses, and you are happy that all seems well then you can try your changer again.
Don't forget to replace any blown fuses you find!!!
If you need anymore help or the changer still is not picked up by the radio please post back.

Good luck.

Pioneer CDXP1280 12 cd changer. Power to changer, no operation

I Think there are 3 wires to a Pioneer changer??
+12V Battery ( Hot ) on all of the time
Switched +12v ( accessories, or switched by the radio only when it's on,
and Ground (Chassis Earth)
I think there was 2x orange and one black wire
Make sure that there is a good earth to the changer. Use a multimeter on ohms between a good earth point on the car and the cd changer or the black wire.

If you disconnect and reconnect all poer to the changer, you may hear the motors whirr for a short time as the mechanism resets, but cant be sure.
Hope that helps
