Hi, It is possible to connect a Eclipse AVN-6620 DVD Navigation Receiver to an iPod, in order that music and navigation systems can be accessed safely and efficiently while driving. Although it is necessary to buy a connecting cable, no specialist technical knowledge is required.

Instructions

Purchase an "iPod connect cable & audio cable" set. These can be bought directly from the Eclipse AVN-6620 DVD Navigation Receiver website or through secondary sites such as Blue Unplugged. (See Resources)

Plug the "iPod" cable into the iPod, and the "audio" cable into the car's stereo. Attach both to the Eclipse AVN-6620 DVD Navigation Receiver and ensure that all three pieces of equipment are turned on.

Go to the "Go" screen on your Eclipse AVN-6620 DVD Navigation Receiver . You can play your iPod songs through the stereo, controlling them via the Eclipse AVN-6620 DVD Navigation Receiver .

Also you can use the manual as a guide..

Take care..

You can try resetting the unit to see if that will relolve the issue. Tech support for Eclipse is poor, and very difficult to get someone online.

Why does my head unit read usb error 1

If you are trying to plug Thumb stick in it and then you get the error message.Your Thumb is inoperational. If you trying to connect IPod thru it and reads error, I would say your USB dock is damaged and of course Ipod could be bad also.

I own a 2009 Hyundai Elantra and was told I could plug my iPod into the iPod USB port using my iPod cable (Apple's). However, neither my iPod Touch or iPod Nano work. Once connected, it just says "Reading...

I have used the Apple iPod cable with no problem in the Elantra USB port with an iPod Nano & iPod Classic. You have to change the music settings, skip songs, etc. from the iPod which is distracting while driving.

I purchased the cord made by Hyundai at the dealership, that plugs into both USB and aux port. The music titles, album info etc show up on the radio screen, and you can use the buttons on the radio to change the tunes, view artists, albums... (safer while driving!). I've seen sellers on eBay that sells the Hyundai made one (cheapest starts @ $24+ w/ s/h - link here) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-HYUNDAI-2009-09-iPOD-INPUT-USB-AUX-AUDIO-CABLE_W0QQitemZ230379648893QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Audio_Video?hash=item35a3b2777d&_trksid=p4506.m20.l1116, as well as copycat ones - I wouldn't buy a copycat one (my opinion).

Do you have a case on your iPods? I have experienced the "reading error" with the Hyundai cord on my son's iPod Classic (he has a leather case on it). It seems to do that because the plug going in to the iPod is not making full contact with the iPod because of the case. When he takes the case off and reconnects, there are no further problems.

Hope this helps, Good luck!

Determining the ipod problem

If the iPod needs to be updated, try installing the update onto the computer without the iPod attached. Once its finished install the iPod into the computer as normal. It should detect the download automatically.
If the iPod won't charge via USB link cord onto the computer, try buying the adaptor plug socket which you can use without the computer. At least then you'll get a chance to see if the iPod can hold a reasonable charge.
I had a similar problem at Xmas there with a new iPod classic. Eventually I had it replaced as it was found to have problems with the hard disk on the iPod itself. Good luck!

Can't load video onto my classic

I am not to sure exactly why you would be using QT for your ipod.
You need to upload only compatible video files to your iPod or they will not play and in most case will not even transfer to your iPod.
The iPod will not play a quicktime file or .mov, you need to search the net for a converter that can convert your file to .mpg and your videos will upload and play.
Also, you cannot transfer video directly from your quicktime program
you need to use iTunes and either sync them or manually load the vids to you ipod.
