1 Answer

I Have Ge Hydro Heater WCVH6400JIWN front laoding washing Machine. It will not Spinn, the washing machine seems to do a wash cycle the drum/motor turns but does'nt spinn. I purchased a new invertor and fitted it, I went through the fault programs and on the fault memory it came up with code E46/48. The travel bolts are out and it sits on a solid floor. Any ideas Brett

I do not have the exact model number/service manual but the error codes will be the same along with the possible/cause and action

There should be a tech sheet located on the back panel, inside the back panel or inside of the control panel.

  • E46--Drive motor--Over temperature, Inverter over temperature
  • Check Motor - t10 tumble, t11 spin, T14 spin.

Power down (unplug) washer, wait 30 seconds and

retry - use whites cycle sanitize temperature - if

reoccurs, replace drive motor. (Note: Cannot occur
    with open winding.)

  • E48--Drive motor--Open motor phase
  • Check Motor - t10 tumble, t11 spin, T14 spin.

Check motor for open winding - if OK, replace
inverter. (Note: Occurs with open winding.)

  • The tech sheet will tell you what pins to check on the motor or maybe the t10-t11-t14 is correct. Since you have already changes out the inverter then I guess the only thing left would be the motor according to the manual.

Not unusual....but it does raise a red flag.
Why don't you give me over night....I want to see if I can come up with the motor schematic.
When you wake up in the morning you should have a answer or more info from me.

      Let's try this....checking motor windings

The motor assembly consists of a reversible, variable speed, 3-phase induction DC motor, and sensor. The motor drives the tub drive pulley with a 7-rib belt. The sensor monitors motor rpm and is connected to the control board. The motor assembly is checked from the front of the washer and removed from the rear.

There are 2 methods to check the motor assembly.

      Method A:

Remove the service panel. (See Service Panel.)

      Disconnect the motor wire harness.

On the motor plug, check for an approximate

resistance value of 6 ohms between any two of the

      three wires:

      Blue to white - 6 ω

      Blue to red - 6 ω

      White to red - 6 ω

The sensor has a resistance value of

approximately 118 ω between the two orange

      wires.

Specific failures associated with the motor assembly

can initiate error codes E42, E48, and E49

      Method B:

Remove the service panel. (See Service Panel.)

Remove the single Phillips-head screw that holds the right front leg of the inverter to the base pan.Slide the inverter rearward to clear the guides that hold the rear of the inverter to the base pan.Position the inverter to access the inverter

      board.

On the inverter board, check for an approximate

resistance value of 6 ohms between any two of

      the three terminals:

      A to B (Blue to white) - 6 ω

      A to C (Blue to red) - 6 ω

      B to C (White to red) - 6
      ω

Note: The sensor and sensor wiring can be checked

at the control board. Check for a resistance value

of approximately 118 ω resistance between the 2

yellow wires located on the wire harness located at

      P9.

GE Washer stuck in wash cycle and not draining.

humming is usually the result of bad motor windings , are u saying it washes for 20 minutes or just stays on that cycle without doing any washing? a non moving drum can be a bad motor coupler or belt if belt driven.

I have a siemens waching machine model no wd11640hkbu. few days back when we were running a wash + dry cycle, while it was on the last 5 minutes of the dry cycle, there were loud banging noises and some...

Front laod washers have a heater element The siemens is mounted at the front of the drum Most likely the heater is burnt out and will need to be replaced. not a difficult problem. The heater has probably burnt itself into an open circuit situation and so the machine now still works. it may not work right through a cycle if temperature is selected other than cold.
You should not have to repalce the machine for the sake of a heater if tis is the case. Why not call knowlegable technician to ascertain this problem. For someone to assume the motor is burnt without looking is not thorough. The banging noise may have been the drum hitting against the burnt out heater element. Good luck

    Water still in machine

Depending on how high your drain hose is some of the water after the final spin can drain back into the outer tube of the machine. This wont hurt anything but when not using the maching, not a bad idea to leave the door ajared to prevent the washer from giving off a bad odour,

WMA54 Hotpoint Aquarius drum does not turn during wash or spin

If the machine pumps water inside but does not start :

Start checking the lid switch, if this is stuck the machine wont start.

If the drum does not move at all, the motor, the motor control unit, the motor coupler, the control board may be faulty.

For more details , see: It doesn't spin

    Noisey during wash cycle

sounds as if your brake pads have broken, try removing the lower acess panel you should see the broken pads lying somewhere under the machine(at least pieces of them), i bet if you spinn the machine the drum doesnt come to a complete sudden stop after lifting the top( it should if the brakes are engaging

Aquarius 1300 spin trips residual circiur breaker

    Hello

There can be two possible reasons for it triping..

Firstly what im pretty sure it is, the motor... either your motor is faulty or your carbon brushes are worn... Im saying this because when the motor has to work at its hardest during the sping cylce it just cannot cope..

The other thing could be is that the drum has play within it and when spining quickly it is cathing the heating element probably already damaged it and therefore triping.

    There your most likely faults

    hope this helps.

The motor is located at the at the back on the bottom of the drum.
the heater is located at the back on the bottom of the drum .

Most likely is will not be the heater as it is more common on the older hotpoints.. But i thought id mention it

    Hope this helps......
