Depending of what OS you use, may be differ a bit between versions. For windows xp go to start/control panel/regional and langauge options, then double click on it, go to languages tab and click on details ther click on add tab and choose from the list input language and below the type of keyboard, then click ok on all windows. For windows 7 go to start/control panel and choose from Clock, language and region, Change keyboards or other input methods, from keyboards and languages click on change keyboard tab and there it's the same like windows xp. The same like windows 7 is vista to.

What your saying is you removed your Recovery Partition? Have you tried a Full Factory Recovery? Remove ALL media DVD, CD, USB, etc. Shut down, unplug, remove battery, plug in , Power on the laptop. Immediately tap the "Alt" and "F10" keys, repeatedly.

How to do system recovery on aspire one

Hi you should be able to do the following, if not you will need an external CD drive & recovery disk.

1. Consider what data you still need from your Acer Aspire One's hard drive. Save the files to an external USB device.

2. Restart the Acer Aspire One's operating system. Wait for the Acer logo to appear on the LCD screen.

3. Press the "Alt" and "F10" keys at the same time to bring up the recovery menu. Press "Enter."

4. Click "Next." Follow the prompts that appear on the screen to restore the operating system back to factory settings.

5. Use the drop-down boxes to select the time zone and language information for your Acer Aspire One. Restart the netbook when you are prompted to finish restoring the computer.

6. Connect the external USB device to your Acer Aspire One and transfer the data you saved earlier back to the netbook.

Warning:
It is possible to delete the hard drive partition that has the recovery tool.

If your Acer Aspire One no longer has the recovery partition, you will need
to acquire an external USB DVD drive and then contact Acer for a recovery DVD.
Connect the USB drive to the netbook's USB port and then insert the recovery DVD in the drive.

Hope this helps.

First please refer to the following thread to see whether it helps.

I know that you are unable to start the current vista operation system and getting the error 0xc00000e9; the issue can be caused by the damaged system files or hardware device. You might first follow the steps below to exclude the possibility of system corruption.

Method 1: Use the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) to run System Restore

======================================================

1. Insert the Windows Vista installation disc into the disc drive, and then start the computer.

2. Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD ...". appears.

3. Select a language, a time and currency, and a keyboard or input method, and then click Next.

4. Click Repair your computer.

5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, choose the drive of your Windows installation and click Next

6. At the System Recovery Options Dialog Box, click on System Restore.

7. Follow the System Restore Wizard instruction as usual and choose the appropriate restore point.

8. Click Finish to restore the system.

Method 2: Startup Repair from the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)

======================================================

5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, choose the drive of your Windows installation and click Next.

6. At the System Recovery Options Dialog Box, click on Repair your computer.

7. (Click the operating system that you want to repair), and then click Next.

8. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Startup Repair.

Good luck!

Keyboard changing key configuration

the key combination you mention is Left Alt + Left Shift.
It changes the keyboard layout to the next one in the listed of available keyboard layouts.
To configure the layouts, go to Control Panel -> Regional and language settings -> Languages tab -> Details
Under Installed services, the keyboard layouts that are currently installed are listed.
If you don't need to change (is needed if you want to type norwegian for example, since it has some special characters), you can simply remove all unnecessary layouts.

Try go to bios setup and then "load bios setup default" then press "F10" to save and exit.

if this no work.

You should provide the system recovery installation disc and insert it to the CD/DVD rom then start recover your system.

Note: important files will be removed when doing this, so if you can back up your files do that.
