Question about HP Color LaserJet 2600n Printer
This problem of vertical shadowing is a fusing problem.
The only way around it is to connect the printer to your network and browse to it with Internet Explorer, eg http://192.168.1.100 (check it's IP by 'Reports' & 'Config Page'
Once your browsed into it go to..............
Settings->Print Modes and set the plain paper Fusing to Less Fusing.

You may need to try running a couple of calibration sequences on this printer before it will print properly. Try putting the old cartridge in, if it prints ok then you know that they new cartridge is defective and you can ge it replaced. Defective cartridges do happen.
