Sounds too lean, open up the needle valve more.... If no success, check float level is high enough.

Craftsman mini tiller runs great for a few minutes then revs up a little and then dies. Restarts after a few minutes and then repeats over and over.

Fuel starvation, try slacken the filler cap to rule out a blocked tank vent, if no better replace the fuel filter in the tank, if no better you will have ti remove the carb and clean the filer under the pump diaphram.

It could be the gas you are running in it, if it contains ethenol use some stabil in this type of gas. Ethenol attracts moisture and will cause the carbs. on small engines to gum up and get a fouled. I run 100% gas in everything. It may cost a little extra now but it will save you alot more in the long run!

Need to know how to rebuild the carb on a 3.0 hp

The carb sounds like a vacu-jet, very easy to rebuild. Remove it from the tank but be careful not to damage the siphon tube. Then make sure to check for foreign matter in the tank (big problem with this system), clean and flush it. The idle screw is easy, the other is set by going from idle to full throttle quickly and adjusting it just so it doesn't stumble

Tiller wont stay running..

Clean out the small fuel inlet ports behind the diaphragm. Sounds like they are clogged up. Use the end of a paperclip to gently make sure the passages are open. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Craftsman mini tiller starts good but will not idle nor run fast

i'm having the same problem. cleaned carb but didn't help. I found that if I spray starting fluid on the gasket between the carb and the motor it speeds up. I'm going to try to find a new gasket, I can't tighten it anymore.
Good luck

Tiller wont run

hi,

if it has set up for longer than a few moths it is most likely a fuel issue. many times the diaphram on the carb will dry out and shrink or crack allowing air to seep through leaning the motor to the point to where it will stall after a couple seconds. spray some wd40 aorunfd the ouside body of the carb and tank were the carb attaches if applicable and restart if it runs a little longer you will need to replace the diaphram which is inexpensive to fix usually under $10.00 refer to a manual or somtimes you can go online to youtube and there are many videos on the subject. hope this helps... good uck!
