How to clean the Fanaway Fan
It's very easy to clean the blades of the Fanaway fan, simply pull the blades out when the fan is turned off. You need to hold onto two blades and slowly pull them out in the same direction that the blades would usually open, the mechanism is fairly tight so you need to use a bit of pressure to pull them out. Make sure you pull both two blades at the same time as pulling one could cause damage as the pressure is too much over the 1 blade. Once you have them out you can wipe them down with warm soapy water or Windex on a cloth.

usually three screws just above the shade that drop into a recess around the shade. Support the shade and undo them by hand. They should be finger tight. You don't need to remove them all the way. Dont overtighten when you put them back or you can crack the shade.

Where can I purchase a 3/4" downrod coupler for a

From your friendly neighborhood electrician - any electric supply (a business supplying parts to
the electrical & HVAC trade) will either carry Hunter parts, or at the very least be able to
order the parts - why: Hunter is manufactered in the USA. Nearly every other brand of ceiling
fan you'll find at your neighborhood Home Depot or Lowes is manufactured in China.
The typical ceiling fan will come with parts for two configurations: (1) flush, and (2) a optional
3-inch downrod, but commercial installations will somtimes use extended downrods.

The Hunter web site (http://www.hunterfan.com) catalog shows available downrods in several
lengths: 12", 18", 24", 36", 48", 60", and 72".

I found Hunter downrod specifics in the online "core products catalog," at:

How do I oil my Hunter fan?

You don't. There's no place to oil ANY ceiling fan, not just the Hunter line. All ceiling fans use sealed ball bearings in the motors. They are lubricated for life. If you're experiencing a squealing noise, it would be best to take it down, pack if up and take it back where you bought it. No ceiling fan should squeal, let alone one as expensive as a Hunter.

I just purchased this fan from Target. It doesn't turn on. I unscrewed some screws and ...there is no connection from the base to the fan. There seems to be a lot missing from the motor too. My guess is...

More than it's worth by a lot. I would go to target with the target SKU and have them find one at a different store and have it brought in for you. If it is the last one in all the world there is a reason. If you like the look, copy all its model numbers and such take a good picture of it and see if you can find one on the web. The shipping on the fan would be around 50 dollars and hunter would charge you full shop rate and parts as it is not their responsibility but Target's. If you wait too long you will have some trouble returning it, so I would choose your course of action soon. Hunter can help you find who has the model for sale if it's not one made specifically for Target. Good luck, Farmerbear at FixYa.com

Hunter Ceiling Fans

Unfortunatly that is a common thing with most manufactorers now a days! they are not in the service industry. make it, sell it, dump it, make a new one. and the cycle goes on and on. You may be able to find a repair person who can fix the fans for you at a reasonable cost.
