Question about Sport & Outdoor - Others

Open Question

After a storm last night, I have a ps 16 comm error. all of the pumps on the primary control unit work, but the fountain pump and light on the secondary box does not work. when you turn on the fountain, the relay does not make a click.. the fuse was blown in the unit, it only had a single 3 amp fuse. I replaced it and turned the power back on and the fuse immediately blew out again. so there is either a surge from the main unit to the secondary unit, or a surge in the secondary unit.. How should i proceed to find out? as i said, all is working on the primary unit as far as the controls, menus, timers, and pumps connected to the first sets of relays.

I can't imagine a bad relay board would blow a fuse. The relay board would need to make a bad connection to ground to blow a fuse -- I don't see it.

If you could supply me with the ML#, I'll take a look at the wiring diagram and give you an educated answer.

Not that I recall clearly which fuse is for the drain solenoid, but the two sound related. If a drain valve is obstructed by debris, it will heat up the coil and short it out. I don't know the spec'd ohms, but I would suspect at least 50. I'd check it.

Was any of the wires cut through?  Just a shot in the dark, but try unplugging and re-plugging the wire connector going into the clutch lever.  If that doesn't work submit more information.

SOURCE: sony str-de845 Powers up, relay clicks, fuses BLOW!

This condition, may be produced by defective components (Q506, Q507). you can remove those transistor, replace the fuses, power-on and wait for relays click. if the fuses not blown again, them replace both transistor.

SOURCE: Fuse replaced but blows againwhen remote clicked for CT32SL14

This is a problem with the main poiwer supply. It could be simply a shorted rectifier diode or more complex. Without taking measurements inside the set or at least seeing what the condition is of the board, there is little we can do to help. This unit shoul dbe brought to a service shop with a request for a detailed estimate. Armed with that info, we should be able to guide you through the actual repair. Expect to pay $50 or more for the estimate.

Davey pressure pump will not run, was running fine last night

You checked the power supply and it works, you may have to take it aprt to clean the magnegtic inters or replace the inters or pump because broken shaft, trash gets in them and stops the rotation of the pump blades. But really need more info on the pump.

The pump is on a timer and last night during a storm the pump stopped working?

Try connecting the pump to the mains and bypassing the timer.
If the pump works then the timer is faulty and needs to be replaced.
If the pump does not work then the pump motor is faulty,
