Question about Nokia 1100
The easiest way to test if the jack has a bad connection is to use a meter and an old nokia cord. Cut the plug off the end of the old nokia
cord and strip back the 2 wires just long enough to touch them with the
leads of the meter (1/4"). Set the meter to measure ohms and touch the
2 leads of the meter together and the meter should Zero out. Now touch
the leads of the meter to the exposed leads of the plug. Have the test
plug inserted in the phone of course. If you do not get a reading on
the meter there is an open circuit. The phone will have to be
disassembled and you must solder the jacks connectors back to the main
circuit board. Many times these jacks dislocate from being droppedor
hanking the plug out too rough or on an angle. I'm sure you already
tested the battery and made sure the contacts were clean and free of
obstructions. It only takes 1 small particle to keep the contacts from
mateing properly. If non of this is the problem the main circuit card
itself may be cracked. Visually inspect it. If any cracks are found use
an exacto knife and scrape the coating off down to the copper traces
themselves then carefully solder single strands of copper wire bridging
the gaps in the cracked cicuit board. Then apply a layer of epoxy to
the damaged section of the board to prevent further flexing and
lenghtening of the crack in the board. If you have any question or need

points you in the right direction.
