The zoom on my Kodak V1073 seems to fluctuate and won't return to wide angle when pressing down on toggle. Half of my pictures are fuzzy even on smart photo.

I have the same exact problem. It started doing that on my camera about 2 months after I had. For 10 mega pixels the picture quality really isn't that great, nor is the quality of the camera itself.

Device driver was not successfully installed. Why?

I?m not sure if you?re fault code is showing on the computer, Easy Share Software, or the camera itself. Therefor I will list 2 possible solutions: If the fault message is on the LCD on the camera: There is no firmware available online for this camera model. Therefor you do need to set up a "repair" with KODAK directly. An Out of Warranty repair for this model for this fault is about 88 pounds + shipping. KODAK also offers a Trade up option where you will have the opportunity to trade up to a newer model 25-30% cheaper than the market price. In order to arrange your repair/Trade up: Contact KODAK: http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=14563&pq-locale=en_US&_requestid=3490 If this fault message is on your computer, Easy Share Software: Please do a Clean Install on the software: Please follow the instructions: Uninstall Easy Share software: Select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs. For Windows XP operating systems, select Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs. Select Kodak Easy Share software. Select Remove (or select Change, and then select Remove). Run the Clear utility: Visit the CLEAR Utility for Kodak Easy Share software Web page at www.kodak.com/go/clear Click the Download button, and then follow the on-screen prompts. After restarting your computer, visit the Kodak Easy Share software Web page at www.kodak.com/go/easysharesw and install the latest version of Easy Share software.

My camera shuts off when I my zoom is nearly halfway through

Make sure your batter is fully charged, and is not bad. This kind of reaction can happen with a weak battery or partly charged.
If that is not it, then the camera needs repair.

When I zoom in my camera shuts off

Mine was doing the same thing and after chatting with Kodak Tech Support to no avail I wiped the lens barrel (the rings that slide in and out) with a paper towel dampened with a little alcohol and it started working again. There's a sensor that shuts down the camera if the lens can't move freely and apparently a film can build up on the rings that causes just enough friction to make it turn off. I then wiped it with a tiny bit of WD40 on the towel and it's working perfectly. Be very careful if you try this to not get anything on the glass lens itself, and don't use enough to soak the towel, just barely dampen it.

My v1073 turns off right after i turn it on. i dont get a pic or anything.

Make sure the camera is fully charged. It will shut off if it can not pull enough power off the battery. If you have a dock that you use to recharge it or a wall plug-in, plug the camera into it. Push the power button. Having it plugged in by-passes the battery. It should turn on when it is docked or plugged into the wall. If plugging or docking the camera does not turn the camera on, you have an issue that Kodak will need to resolve. Don't forget to have proof of purchase and check to see if your warranty is still valid. Hope that helps.
