Perhaps you have a item of clothing in the latch. Press against the door while pulling that rip cord.

I have a service manual HERE

Door won't unlock whirlpool wFs1073dd front loader

If it has water in the the machine, it has a safety feature that will not allow the door to unlock. There is a manual release but you have to take the bottom kick plate off. Unplug the washer. Then reach up on the right side of the washer and you will feel a plastic lever about the size and shape of a nickel pull down on this lever to release the door. If it full of water i would clean the pump first to get rid of the water. you can clean the pump by taking off the kick plate and you will see a pump with a lid with a handle on it. you can unscrew this and it will have a trap attached to the back of the lid. pull the trap out and clean any debris out then screw it back in. make sure to have buckets and towels handy once you unscrew the lid any water in the machine will fly out at you. the easiest way to avoid this is to clamp the hoses that go to the pump.

Wash cycle has ended and door will not unlock.

welll there are 3 screws across the bottom front of the panel (torx 15) the lower acees panel can be removed, from there you can gain access to the backside of hte lock assy and manually release it. simply run your hand up the right side, just below the lock/latch assy ther is a quarter sized/teardrop shaped pull cord. thos will release the door, for you

Duet washer door locked

After pulling the manual door release by removing the bottom door panel you are able to add 1 cap (1 tbsp) of liquid cooking oil to the water. The cooking oil will greatly reduce the amount of suds so you can complete the cycle.
