I have a Acer Aspire 5720z and lately got vista uninstalled and got XP on but now my DVD drive won't read properly It reads and plays CDs fine but if I put in a DVD it makes noises like it's trying really hard to find something on the disc but doesn't work. It's not the disc because it works on other computers so can you help???

-   I bought this computer from my friend, and to make a long story short, ended up installing windows on it again. My CD/DVD drive will read CD's, but not DVD's. I'm assuming I need a driver or something. Help, please!

I attempted to download Flash Player onto my computer at work. I am not a system manager and did not realize I would need an access code to install anything like that so when it asked for my password, I aborted the install. Now, every time I start Firefox, I get a box saying that it is trying to install the Adobe Download Manager. My company's computer help desk say they have better things to do than fix my mistakes and I can wait until they are available (2 months now). Adobe Download Manager never loaded so it does not show up on the Add/Remove software list in the control panel and it does not show up in the Firefox Add Programs in the toolbox. I am running Windows XP v.2002 with service pack 2
