There should be different settings for the clutch. there is a wheel behind the chuck which you can turn for the settings. If it is set at the high setting the clutch is worn and has to be replaced.

How to ground a Tork EW103B time switch wired for 240Volt since there is no ground lug in the plastic housing or on the body of the timer itself

Many plastic timer enclosures do not have ground screw.
Simply join the ground wires inside wiring space using wire nut.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Tork-Digital-timers-and-manuals.html#ew

Since the timer mechanism is plastic, it is non-conductive.
It's like using all-plastic electric drill. The drill does not have ground wire because the electrical components are housed completely in non-conductive plastic.

You can buy the Tork 9000A metal Nema3R enclosure if grounding is preferred. Or buy Intermatic 2T511GA metal Nema3R enclosure plus buy Tork IAP adapter to fit Intermatic enclosures.
Choose the metal enclosures when conduit needs to be supported and timer could be hit by some object.

The non-grounded box and non-grounded timer is also true of GE digital timers 15132 and 15136. Which coincidentally have same wiring as EW103 when using 240Volt.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-GE-15132-timer.html

However the Tork DTU40 timer has ground screw >>> but the timer is not grounded, so ground screw is merely for joining wires together.

How the cordless drill works in drill mode, especially how the clutch works in drill mode, please give the clear explanation with diagrams

the basic operation for the drill working in the drill only mode is you tighten the clutch up which puts more pressure on the spring not allowing the clutch to ratchet like it would in another position therefore bypassing the clutch completely. Give me the brand and model number and I will try and find a parts explosion for you.

Drill doesnt work unless shaken

It sounds like a bad cord, or a loose electrical connection inside the handle, or the switch.

Instead of shaking the drill, try wiggling the cord where it goes into the drill handle, then wiggle it where if plugs into the wall.

If this doesn't cause the drill to run, try pressing the switch repeatedly to see if that causes it to run. If that doesn't work, it's probably a connection inside the handle.

Try these procedures and please let me know the results. We'll take it from there.

thanks...

Charlie

Clicking, little tork

low toque and a clicking sound usually indicates a problem with the clutch, or a problem with the anvil. unfortunately with this impact driver, dewalt only sells the "mechanism" as a whole piece for $88 US.

if it is just a worn anvil then it should only cost around $18 US
