Question about Garden

1 Answer

I have a Hayward Ecostar SP3400VSP that isn't working properly. The control module says the pump is running, but the motor is not getting power. On the incoming side the power is present - both legs to ground read 120v and 240v between both legs. The 4 peset speeds or the quick clean settings won't activate the pump either... However, the control module is not reporting an error of any kind. I'm thinking a relay isn't working or is burned out - the pump was bought at Pinch - A - Penny in Lakeland, FL and installed on 2/8/2011.

I have a Hayward sp3400vsp. The pump runs all night some times, the screen say is priming, it will shot off manually, and it wont do it all the time. help??

Sounds like the pump is sensing that there is a problem with water flow on the suction side.

Could be caused by air being sucked into the system. Do you notice air in the strainer chamber? Or bubbles coming from the inlets in the pool?

Could also be caused by something clogging or restricting the suction line.

I have a Hayward sp3400vsp 2 HP pump for my in ground pool. When I turn on the pump it tries to auto prime for about 5 minutes and then shuts off. The pump is less than one year old. Any susgestions?

I have the same model pump. When I had it put in, the installer said that the auto prime function had some bugs in the software. He suggested changing the setting to 3 minute prime. You can change it in the configuration menu. I assume that your pump is actually priming and not running dry. Hope that helps. Please reply if you need more help. Good luck!

Pump will not run, electronics operate well

Can you plug the pump in directly to power and run it full speed? As this is an old problem, I'm sure you have already fixed it.

T02 error code 30

E30 means that the control isn't getting an electrical signal from the water pump. A clogged pump, bad pump, loose connection or a bad control board can cause this error code. The first thing you will want to do is check for a loose connection. Then make sure the pump isn't clogged. Check the pump motor with an ohmmeter and if it is open replace it. At this point the only way to tell if the control or the water pump is the problem is to run the water pump test on this page
Test for voltage at the pump during the test. If the pump is getting power but will not run, replace the water pump and if the pump isn't getting power, replace the control.
