Question about Dishwashers

My dishlex dishwasher is a model 560 silent range with eco save and has a printed circuit type switch arrangement it has man code of b8833ww or 88833ww the problem is that the pause start button activates but dose not latch in I suspect that the problem is with a latching relay behind the switch panel as i have had the front off and cleaned the contcts with contact cleaner! all of the buttons work including pause ! any advise would help as would a wiring diagram and or a operation or workshop manual!

the door itself latches ok and the switch on the latch seems to work ok but there are row of program buttons on the front which have printed circuit type switches behind.

Normally you select a program and an led lights right by the switch.

then you need to press the start stand-by botton which is the LH button .

when the start pause button is pushed normally the led by it goes on and it and the program led stay on.

it feels like its a latching swittch which dosen,t and the machine dose not respond to the button being held in.

the button you push is just a peice of plastic which presses onto the printed circuit board switch which i have cleaned with contact cleaner!

Now both the program light and the LED go out these are some blue relays on the pc behind im not sure if its these.............i dont have any diagrams in the places you suggest.

Although i say the switch on the door works ok now i think about it i have a couple of times had to open and shut the door to get the machine to light up

Hi, well I am sorry to inform you, but there are NO relays behind to.or that, activate the buttons, they are what are called Soft Buttons/Keys, These simply indicate that they are Closed, to the micro, and whatever action is assigned to them device performs.
Unfortunately what has happened is that the Micro, has developed a fault, and is for whatever reason is ignoring the commands, this usually happens due to an BAD internal fault.
Honestly the very best thing to do, cost wise and hassle, is to contact a service center for your unit, ask them to call, and ask for a "Quote" as to the cost of the repairs.
There is no way unfortunately with the symptoms to pin down the exact cause, with just this indication. You see seemingly simple things can mask a large underlying problem, and it is really best to have these attended to by a professional.

If the door is not latching then the latch needs to be replaced. This video link posted is not your model but dishwasher door latches are pretty much universal.

You will be able to use the video.

Just ensure when you replace the latch assy. that you take off the wires one at a time.

If you need a wiring diagram there should be a tech sheet located either behind the toe plate (lower front panel secured by two screws) on the sides of the unit,or inside of the control panel.

Please post any further questions.

None of the lights will come on if the switches are not made. They are safety switches. Switches must be made for power to be supplied to the control panel.

I have seen intermittent issues with the touch panel before. Usually when they go bad it is the button that you use the most.

Check switch for continuity or bypass them. If switches do not change state when engaged then they are bad.

If you bypass the switches then the panels lights should all come on when commanded to.

    To bypass them

ensure power is off at the breaker/fuse panel

you should have two wires to each switch.

The wires that are together for each switch connect them together.

Turn power on ...it will give you the answer that you are seeking.

Hotpoint FDW60 flashing eco light

if the eco light is flashing, this indicates that saftey float switch has activated in the base of the dishwasher usually caused by a leak, a polystyrene float activates a microswitch which cuts of the water inlet supply

Put detergent in a dishlex dishwasher now the pump stays on a& the dishwasher does not work, just displays a flashing red eco light

Hello jack SparWelcome,

You said, Put detergent in a dishlex dishwasher now the pump stays on a& the dishwasher does not work, just displays a flashing red eco light

What is the BRAND and MODEL Number and year of your dishwasher. Model can be found on sticker inside.

Did you turn off the power at the breaker for 5 minutes to see if it resets the system?
If this is not the case, Please explain!
What do you mean the pump stays on?????????????????????????

If it is not getting water and not working then these may be the problem
Water source turned off
Check to ensure the water source is turned on and water is getting to the water inlet valve.

Float switch
The float switch allows water to enter into the machine to a point where the float will rise up off of the switch and disconnect power to the water inlet valve. If the switch is defective or the float is stuck in the up position, the water will not enter into the machine

Defective water inlet valve

If there is 110v across the two wires on the water inlet valve when the machine is set to fill, the valve should open and the water should enter into the machine. If the water does not enter, the valve is defective.

Defective Timer

The timer is a series of switches that controls all machine functions. If one of the contacts in the timer is defective, the machine will lose that function. knowledge of the the use of a vol/ohmmeter is essential to testing the timer as well as the ability to read the timer sequence chart that is supplied with the machine. In most cases this requires a professional technician.

Dishlex dishwasher global 300. Dishwasher continues to drain with ECO light flashing. Service manual says it is due to an incorrect fill level or fill line.

Some diswashers have a sump in the bottom with a float switch. If the water level overflows the float will activate the switch which will kill the machine and run the drain pump continuously.
