Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

I had to clean and greasy the gears on my Fellowes OD700C shredder. Is there a specfic phasing (alignment) requirement between the two roller blades?

I have disassembled the gearbox, applied new grease and reassemble the unit. Works great, however, I am not certain if the two rollerblades have to be phased (inserted it into gear during assembly) in order to achive maximum cutting capacity. The rollerblades have a hexagon shaft on the end which insert into "two" nylon gears. It looks like one roller turns little bit faster than any other roller. If that is the case, phasing the rollers during assembly should not be necessary because the rollerblades will always be pulling/sherding for paper through the perforated teeth.

The only maintenance required for this type of shredder is manually pulling paper from the shredding mechanism and running lubrication such as 3 in 1 oil or lubricating paper thru the shredder. The head unit is not a serviceable part and is not meant to be disassembled. Opening the head only causes issues when re-assembling, it is not a serviceable part and if the shredder shows signs of wear or functions incorrectly, it is meant to be replaced.

Try your theory and see if it works. The head assembly is not a serviced part and is not recommended that it be disassembled because Fellowes does not have any diagrams to perform internal maintenance.. Unless the gears are not meshing correctly due to wear, not assembly?

How do I stop shredder from spitting documents in and out?

Try cleaning the cutters well. This will require you UNPLUGGING the shredder. Turning it (the top feeding-cutting) part upside down and removing ALL paper and if you see paper clips or staples-REMOVE THEM! You will need to start the motor several times to move the cutting blades around for a complete cycle to make sure you have removed all debris from the cutting blades.
If this does not work you may have an electrical problem you will not be able to solve. Look for your shredder number in the link provided below and download.

Where is the paper sensor located?

Usually the leaf switch located in the middle of the feed slot before the two rows of teeth. Sometimes a bit of paper can get jammed and stop the unit from working. Unplug and remove paper with tweezers if blocked.

Our C220c shredder does not shred, motor turns and blades turn but i think the blades are blunt. Can you get new ones or have the old blades sharpened?

There are 2 shafts that have the cutting blades on them and they both should turn. I have replaced many gears on this model and suspect that a gear is broken. Fellowes does not have many parts this model anymore. I would call a local shredder repair service or you can call Fellowes at 800-955-0959.

OD700C Fellowes Shredder blades don't turn

There is a screw hidden under one of the stick on labels. Remove that and the top comes just fine. I got it torn apart, completely cleaned of debris but the rollers still don't turn. I noticed an electrical arc when the switch is pressed so the unit is toast.

Od700c shredder: motor spinds, blades don't move

Inside the motor assembly there are a series of nylon cogs , a large one of which interacts with a metal one.  This is the most likely place you have one or two teeth missing from the large nylon cog that drives the shredder blades.

Hello,
Sounds like the internal gears or drive shafts are either broken, or out of alignment. Not exactly something that can be easily fixed usually. Hopefully, it's still under warranty?

What does the owners manusl tell you that the page limit is? Do not exceed it, and maybe just reduce it by one page at a time until you get the proper shred. Can not be sharpened. It would be cheaper to buy a new shredder.
