Disconnect first the unit from power supply. pull out the fuse and check for the continuity of the terminals with an ohm meter, if there is no continuity,, replace the fuse. for heater, remove one heater terminal connection and check for the resistance reading.if no resistance read, replace the heater. ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE UNIT FROM POWER SOURCE BEFORE DOING THESE.

Top heating bars stopped working

Dear Tang_Tuong,

I would check all of the fuses, the internal fuses and wiring for any signs of damage and that particularly from heat. Also multimeter the connectors of the wiring to the element and see if you are getting a voltage reading, if you get a reading from the wiring and the element is not heating up, then you need to replace that element, do these checks for all of the internal components and you will find the one at fault.

I do hope this is the fixya for you and look forward to hearing how you get on.

Yours sincerely

Ouszen

ELECTRONICS SEEM TO WORK (ON/OFF; TIMER; CLOCK; OPERATION SELECTIONS [TOAST, BAKE, ETC]) BUT ELEMENTS DO NOT LIGHT UP

check the resistance of the plug by turning the timer and temperature switch, if there's no resistance, open your unit and check the resistance of thermal fuse which is connected to line wire. it is look like resistor..if the thermal fuse is ok then check the resistance of heating element..

The upper element in my Sanyo SK-VF7S no longer works

Since it is unlikely that each element has a separate fuse, the element has probably failed.
To verify this and check the element for continuity, you would need a meter capable of measuring resistance, a common feature on even the cheapest meter.
You can buy one of these in auto parts stores, electronic supply stores, on eBay, or, if you have one close to you, at Harbor Freight cheaper than other local stores.
The most basic can measure AC, DC, DC current, continuity and resistance and digital meters have pretty much replaced the standard analog meter; you will be reading from a numerical LCD display. They are useful to have at home or for your car for checking many things. Instructions are simple, even understandable if you can correct the butchered English typically found in the manual.
Observe sensible safety by pulling the plug on items measured for continuity or resistance.
If you do want to measure the element, you will find very low resistance if the element is intact; somewhere between 2-3 Ohms and not likely more than 10 Ohms. You will need to disconnect one end of the element and then measure from end-to-end with the meter.

The broil element and bake element both come on set for Bake.

You are correct in your diagnosis. The selection switch has 2 sets of contacts that should only make one when on bake. The contacts internal to that fuse are most likely fused together, the other thing that could be going on is a short circuit in the wires to the selection switch causing the same problem. Typically a repair unless under warranty would be costly unless you are up for the challenge of replacing the switch and checking the wiring yourself.

Russell Hobbs Toaster has just stopped working

get your volt ohm meter out unplug it and disassemble it check your heating elements if there is no resistance the elements are bad. ONLY if you are comfortable with ac voltage!!! turn your meter to check ac voltage VERY CAREFULLY make sure nothing is shorted plug toaster in press toast button down. this should send voltage through thermostat to the coils . if you measure voltage across toaster switch when it is depressed the switch is bad. check your thermostat same for it if there is voltage across it it is open (bad).

Krups Toaster Oven elements stopped heating up

this is all to common . what thought happend did happen . the control board went bad and the elements where stuck on . inside there is a thermal fuse ,it blew out and saved you from haveing a fire but now the oven is dead . if you replaced the fuse it would just do it again and the board cannot be bought so your out of luck . on your next oven stay away from electronic controls . i am shocked you got 3 years out if it ,most go bad mutch sooner
