How do you remove ignition lock cylinder on a 1973 dodge charger

These older vehicles had a tumbler release pin which needs to be pushed in while key tumbler assy is turned counterclockwise. Look for a small hole in the column, usualy located undernieth where the lock assy is. Insert something small such as a paper clip into the homle after turning the tumbler to the acsesorry position( backwards). push in the paper clip and rotate the lock assy backwards at the same time to release the tumber from the lock assy. and pull the tumbler out.

Maytag gas dryer broken tumber belt. how do i replace it myself? the tumbler doesn't turn, the belt thah goes around it is broken. i need to put a new belt on.

Each dryer is made differently on how to access the drum (tumbler) and belt replacement. If you can provide a model #, that would be very helpful. On most dryers the model# is located on the door frame usually to the left when you open the door. This will get you started in the right direction.

Ignition key will not turn. Steering wheel is locked. Key works on all locks in the car except the ignition. Have tried jiggling, hitting with end of screwdriver, heating key, heating tumber.

find a nissan dealer and buy a new lock cylinder, have them set the tumblers for you then find a video of someone installing one over on youtube.com and put it in. a dealer can put one in for you for less than a hundred bucks, but having them set the tumblers to match your original keys is extra.

The battery went dead the other day, now the ignition key will not turn, tried wiggling it, is it easier to drill the cylinder or cut off the black ring

Battery had nothing to do with tumbler dying. The best thing you can do is get 2 pins that fit in the holes on the tumbler and get the key to turn 1 more time so you can just pull the tumber out and repplace.

Ignition key won't turn over, has to juggle the key back and forth several times and then sometimes it will turn over and will start

cant see the problem so can only guess sounds like either a worn out key or a worn out tumber

My ford windstar's ignition will not turn to the on position. it appears to be stuck

Try spraying wd40 or some king of lubricant in the key cylinder. Dirt has gotten into the tumber and causing the pins inside to stick. If you get it unstuck either leave the key in and do not turn to lock position or replace the tumbler. I hope this helps. good luck.

Scraping noise

hi there,

the scraping could be the tumbler itself. please check the belt around the tumber and make sure that it's not worn.

thanks
