The lower hinge on each door may have a door closing cam. It raises the door up ¼ inch when opening and this assist in closing the door. If it's wore out and doesn't work the door may not seal and the gasket can be damaged. Watch the operation of the door to see if it rises up when opened.

Leave the door shut and let the magnetic gasket hold the door in place. Put something between the bottom of the door and the floor to hold it in case it slips.
Remove the bracket holding the pin and hinge assembly taking note of order of removal of parts. Slide new cams on. You probably need two.

Door not creating suction when door closes

the door may need adjusting
cut an place a strip of paper between the seal and the fridge and close the door
if the paper pulls out easily then the seal is not touching fridge
The suction is created when the warm air from the room that gets into the fridge when the door is opened is cooled down and occupies less space hence the lower pressure and the vacuum forms

I have a frigaire ice box with french doors the freezer will not stay closed

(1) make sure nothing is protruding out ward toward doors, (2) make sure the sealing area is clean along with the seal. These doors do not have a latch, has suction seals. now when you close it PUSH in-ward on door to cause a suction seal..(.a long ham bone could be hindering it.)

Side by side kenmore refrigerator no suction on produce side

There is no suction normally. The door has a spring type mechanism to keep it firmly closed, and the magnetic seal takes up the slack. Check the door/ hinge is straight and tight and look at the top of the hinge. There is a small cylinder about 5mm high with a number of dimples in it. One of these should have a pin in it that operates the spring mechanism; if it is missing the door will not close well.

Also make sure there is nothing in the fridge protruding, stopping the door from closing and the seal sticking!

Have replaced seal on freezer door but I have lost suction to keep the door closed. (Push in door seal)

Sometimes the gaskets are a little bigger than the orginal. what to do is use duck tape or something to keep the door closed for 24 hours and this will help put the new gasket in the right position. hope this helps. wally

Is there a switch to turn-off the tools so that

On the Hoover U6311-900 there is no switch that turns off the suction to the tool hose. That hose is attached to the head of the vacuum on the side via a spring loaded "door". Just twist the hose to remove it, the door will close and you will have full suction again.

Strange thing over night my refrigerator has lost the suction in the doors. I have to close the door and hold the door close, to keep it close

there is a plastic part that attaches to the lower hinge that helps keep the door closed. it is like a rocker that when the door is open the door rides up on the plastic rocker then as you close the door the door rides down on the hinge rocker and helps to force it closed. mine stopped closing on it's own then all of a sudden the black plastic piece broke and fell to the floor. I am ordering a new piece if I can find the part number.

EF 1750 has lost suction power. There is a noticable decrease in suction power even at the power unit inlet.

Disconnect the actual pipe where it meets the vac. Then test the intake for suction. If you have poor suction still, check the intake itself from inside the vac body for blockage, then check the gasket on the pail for mis-alignement.

If you have suction at the actual intake, your issue will be in the house piping. Look for any damaged inlet doors which are ajar, also look at any inlets you may have recently removed for painting or renovation work. Each inlet has an o ring seal which must be properly aligned. If not aligned you will hear a hiss at the inlet when the door is closed.

Last check where any exposed pipe or pipe joint could have been jarred loose or damaged, basement , garage, etc. Post back to advise what you find

Decreased suction at hose end

Yes, the "door" on the angle hose might not closing properly when the vacuum is in the upright position (if you look at the vacuum from the back, this hose connects the back to the bottom of the vacuum and it has a "door" at the very bottom end that is supposed to block suction to the lower part of the vacuum while upright) Check for a build up of linty stuff in the corner. The best way to access this is to remove the two screws on the clamp found at the top of the hose, (freeing the hose on top only), straighten hose so you can see inside to the end, and watch inside as you press the upright release lever. (awkward, but worth the effort) You should be able to see the door move -it should be completely open when the vacuum is not locked upright, and should be completely closed when upright. Remove anything that might be preventing it from closing - I used a flathead screwdriver. Hope this helps someone!!!!

Refrigerator Door Lost Suction

I have a GE Profile Stainless Steel side by side. I also noticed that the refrigerator side door was not sealing like it had previously. There was no "suction" when opening. I started inspecting the gasket around the door to see if this needed replaced, as I had read that may be the problem from this forum. My particular model has the grill / vent at the bottom of the door, in the front, which just pops off. I found that down by the grill my model has magnets there that match up with magnets on the bottom of the doors. I inspected this and found a foreign object had attached itself to this magnet. I removed this object and waaahlaaah the door now has suction! I was relieved to find that I didn't need to replace the gasket. Worth a try. Hope this helps.
