How to fix limited or no connectivity message with your wireless network connection

When you move between wireless networks that use the same IP range and/or hardware it is some times necessary to manually renew your IP address for the new network because the computer still thinks it is connected to the old network.

Note sometimes all you need to do is reboot your computer and the computer will reacquire a valid IP address but from time to time a reboot will not fix the problem and you will need to go through the steps below.

1. Click Start - Run

2. Next enter "CMD" and click OK

3. Now at the command line type "ipconfig /release" and press Enter

4. After the first command runs you will be at a command line again now type "ipconfig /flushdns" and press Enter

5. Now you will need to enter one more command, type "ipconfig /renew" and press Enter

At this point if you are wireless connection is not already connected it should be reconnecting to your router.

If you still get the limited or no connectivity message make sure that the router is getting an internet connection. You may need to restart your modem then your router to make sure that the router is connecting properly to your modem.

Also note in my example pictures you can see several connection listed this is because my notebook is connected to several networks. If you have a high number of connections you may need to reinstall the drivers for your network card. Doing this will dump and cached setting that may be causing your connection problems.

Wireless connection ...limited connectivity
If you connect the computer to the router , does it works? If the wired is on line that means the wired connection is OK.
Open the set up page of the router check the
wireless settings of the router.
I think your network is secured and you are not
typing the correct network key.
just open the router set up page and check the wireless settings.

Samsung NC10 will not connect to any network

If WLAN and Wireless cards are enabled, then you may have to unplug your router for 10 seconds to reset it. They tend to build up a static charge. Unplug wireless router for 10 seconds, plug back in and you should be fine in a minute or two with full connectivity

Configuring the usb

First, make sure that the device is working properly on the device manager of your computer. Then, set the wireless settings of the router to the wireless adapter. You can use the wireless utility built in to windows (XP and Vista) or the utility that came with your adapter to fix that.

Normally, the limited or no connectivity may mean that there is a wireless security set on your network and that the network key is set incorrectly. If you are using Vista or XP, try to remove the preferred networks and reconnect once again with the correct key.

Hope this helps

Limited connectivity

If the network you are connecting to has wireless security enabled, try to remove all the preferred networks and reconnect fresh and enter your network key.

One possible cause for limited or no connectivity is the incorrect wireless password set on it.
