Question about Sansui HDLCD3210 32 in. LCD TV

1 Answer

My DirecTV is connected via HDMI and also Component. Picture and sound blanks out. If I switch from HDMI to Component, it will come in. And vise versa. It seems to be getting worse. Is there anything that can be done to resolve this problem?

Can you be more specific

it is normal for the picture and sound to go out when switching from HDMI to component - it takes tv some time to resync when you switch inputs

if this is not issue please be more specific and write me back and i can help more

no, that is not the problem. It blanks out and won't come back up, so I switch to the other and then I can see it for a little while, then it will blank back out again. So, I switch back to the other input until it starts blacking out.

oh ok sorry - sounds like a problem with the set in that case especially since it is happening on 2 different inputs

it could be the digital to analog convertors if you are using digital component hookups

try other source if you can and see if that still happens if so set will need to be repaired - if you have a VCR still try hooking up that since it is analog and will use different circuitry and see if problem stays or goes

You said you tried hooking the HDMI up directly from the TV to each component, and that worked. How is it usually hooked up - through some kind of switch? I'm not completely understanding your setup here.

Digital Coaxial not working on DVD player

There might be several problems. As the projector has component only connections and the DVD player none, then if the Receiver has component out, you can hook it up to that. If the receiver has HDMI inputs then you can connect the DVD player via the HDMI socket to it. The Coax sockets on the DVD player will be for sound. Number one should be connected to Digital coax 1 and assigned for it.
It's possible that the sound on the DVD player is switched off on the coax or has the wrong format selected. You will need to see the player's menu for this, so if you can't see the screen using the projector, connect a TV instead.
However if the receiver has no component out and no HDMI sockets you will have real problems connecting the DVD and using the projector with it. Though you should be able to hear the sound via the Denon.

How do I convert from HDMI-in to Component-Out? Basically, I'd like to have my cable box (Comcast DVR) coming into the receiver using HDMI but would like to output to my TV using Component instead of HDMI....

looking at the manual here that should work for Video http://www.onkyousa.com/download/own_manuals.cfm?cat=Receiver
it looks like on the receiver you would have the DVR connected via HDMI cable to the receiver On the receiver you would select this HDMI as the input. That should automatically allow that signal to be presented to the component out on the receiver you connect the cables from component out to the TV and switch the TV to select the component input -depending on the TV model this may be labeled AV1,2,3,4, etc No sound will be transferred to the TV as component is Image ONLY whats the make and model of the TV

If you want picture to pass through the receiver to TV via HDMI then HDMI is the only cable that you can use for both connections. Video signals designed for an HDMI output will not pass through component video connections, they are not compatible. Your best result will be to either continue using your component video connection but connected directly to the television or use the HDMI connection on the TV if available.
