Question about Garmin GPS
1. First make sure that the volume is not fully down or the mute box ticked. To do this press the volume setting, (the speaker symbol bottom right of the screen which shows WHERE TO and VIEW MAP)
2. If that doesn't solve the problem
Press TOOLS (The spanner symbol) or LOCALE (The blue symbol) on models that don't have a TOOLS symbol.
Press VOICE and select an English speaking voice. That should solve the problem.
If not it may be that the voice file is corrupted and needs to be replaced.
To replace the voice file;
Download WEBUPDATER from http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27
Connect your satnav to your computer and run WEBUPDATER
The software will search for updates to your operating system. If it finds some they will be installed. Then it will give you an option to download extras including voice files. Select only voices from English speaking countries. When you have selected the ones you want click next and they will be downloaded to your satnav. After you have disconnected your satnav from your computer you'll need to go back to step 2 above and select the voice you want to use.
