How to change transmission fluid in a ve Calais v8

Raise the Commodore with the jack and lower it onto a pair of jack stands while it is parked on a flat surface. Engage the emergency brake to prevent it from rolling while on the stands. Slide under the engine and look for the transmission gearbox. This is a round metal tank with a pipe on either end. Place a collection pan beneath the gearbox.
Remove the fill plug bolt on with the 1/2-inch socket wrench. This bolt is located on the pipe coming from the rear of the gearbox. Remove the drain plug bolt on the front pipe using the same socket wrench. Wait 10 to 15 minutes for the fluid to drain completely from the gearbox.
Fill the fluid pump with 3 quarts of transmission fluid. Place the plastic tube in the fill plug and pump until liquid starts dripping from the plug. Reattach the fill plug. Raise the Commodore above the jack stands. Remove the stands and lower the car to the ground.

Washing cycle wont finish, has trouble emptying

if it drains into a bucket it should drain into the stand pipe too, does it overflow out of the stand pipe (waste pipe) when draining?if so the pipe is blocked, also how high is the pipe?draining into a bucket might be less on the pump because gravity is helping drain if bucket is on floor,if the pipe is up high it might not be able to push it,there could be something in the drain hose that goes from the tub to the pump if it did drain no problems before, also when you stick the drain hose into the stand pipe if it's tight it might not have enough air getting into pipe to let it drain, fill the washer, put it on drain after you have some water in it,pull the drain hose out to the top of the stand pipe and let it drain,if it drains ok and water is going down pipe with no back up then it's an air problem, hard to say without being there, you're just gonna have to play detective, did you try to hold the bucket up higher than the washer so the water won't siphon out,if the bucket is up higher than the water level in the machine and it drains then you have a problem with the stand pipe or air gap problem.

Drain stand pipe Washer fills and drains at same time. Manual says the drain stand pipe must be greater than 30 degrees. I would like to have a description of the drain stand pipe and it's...

30 degrees or 30 inches. The drain stand pipe is separate from the washer and usual plumbed in behind the washer. You bring the the drain hose up to the top of the standpipe and then push the end (forming an upside down U at this point) into the top of the open 2-3" diameter PVC pipe and secure it so that it won't back out (but do not seal the opening). Nylon ties or hose clamps will work. The height requirement is so that the bottom of the hose in the standpipe is above the water level in the washer - this avoids the drain siphoning the water out of the washer. Check how far into the standpipe the drain hose has been pushed. If it is below the level of the water in the washer, back it out. Check the height of the standpipe. Many washer manuals recommend a 34" standpipe (max height of 48") based on the drain hose length on the down side of the U. Also make sure no one sealed the top of the standpipe against air entering the pipe. (Often this is done because of a back up in the drain, pull the drain hose out and get the pipe cleaned out and then put the hose in to the proper distance. Then leave the top of the standpipe open.)

For a picture of the standpipe, see .

There is a parts diagram for your washer itself is here: .

I hope this helps.

Get error code LF with approximately 12 minutes left in cycle. Any idea what is broken and how to repair it?

Follow these steps in an order:

  1. Verify both water inlet valves are opened all the way, and the hoses are not kinked?
  2. Verify that the drain hose is only approximately 6 inches down the drain pipe.
  3. Unplug the appliance for 2 full minutes and then plug it back in.
  4. After plugging it back on set the washer for a rinse/spin cycle to see if code comes back and to verify machine fills and drains properly.
  5. Check for filter screens that may be clogging or restricting the water flow.
  6. If that too fails, you can try removing the drain hose from the stand pipe.
  7. Re-insert the drain hose into the stand pipe, going no farther than 6" deep.

The water in my machine does not stop flowing it keeps going through the out let pipe

Make sure that the drain hose does not stick too deep into the stand pipe or drain tub. The end of the drain hose should be elevated about 9 inches higher than the top of the washer to prevent siphoning. Cut the excess of the drain hose if it sticks too deep into the stand pipe or drain tub.

Please specify the brand and model of the washer if the problem is not resolved above for specific troubleshooting guide.

We have a Maytag dishwasher. The first thing I noticed was the soap oozing down the door, but it also appears that the spray arms aren't moving. The water is sitting in the bottom of the dishwasher.

Depending on your model number, Maytag dishwashers on one model have combined drain pump & spray arm pumb. On other Maytag units these pumps are stand alone pumps. Check to make sure that:
1: drain hose to drain pipe(disposal) is open and flows well, do this by disconnecting the hose from disposal end and lay flat (in a pan) on floor and see if water comes out, if it does hose is clear of gunk.
2: Check garbage disposal inlet tube where drain hose connects, if your recently installed disposal then you may have forgot to remove plastic plug,
3: Turn spray arms by hand and make sure they spin freely,
4: make sure that when you close the door it latches and you can hear the pump running.

If all the above are ok, then you have a drain/motor gone down and will need to replace it. Give us a model number and we can advise better where else to look.

Where is the radiator drain plug on a 2005 kia sedona?

The textbook method is to remove the drain plug on the bottom of the radiator.

Most drain plug ismake of inexpensive nylon/plastic and it may fall apart while you turn it.

The professional method is to loosen the lower radiator clamp and drop to lower radiator hose.

Drain the coolant onto a large drain pan and recycle the coolant

Code e20 not finishing the loAD

The drain catch is clogged. You may be able to clear the clog just by using a shop vac on the drainage pipe. If that doesn't work, you'll need to flip the washer on its side to access the bottom panel (remove the stand pedestal if you have one). You'll see a large accordion type drain pipe, use a screwdriver to unhook the pipe, then remove the plastic catch from that. You'll likely find a few coins and some dander that is causing the plug. But use a shop wet/dry vac to clean it out and you should be good to go.

I had a blanket completely dissolve, creating huge amounts of clogging dander everywhere...I actually had to repeat this process a few times and even got a pump error ( E30 ). The Frigidaire affinity washer drain catch is poorly designed and hard to get to, but if you have a shop vac handy, you can get past most problems by just hooking it up to the drain pipe.
