Try turning off the circuit for a minute, then set timer again. Often a little picture/icon of a "baking tray with heat" when timer is passing power on to the thermostat. Also, those timers fail often enough, is the oven brand new (or recent blackout)?
When this occurs the problem is always with the hotplate controllers. Has this happened to all hotplates at the same time or has it occurred over a certain time period?
This solution only really applies to oven elements only. I haven't experienced it with hotplate elements as they are not normally controlled by the timer. When you have an electronic timer and there is a blackout the timer normally reverts to auto. function when the power comes back on. You have to set it back to manual before the oven will work. Turn the oven element to ON and the set it to manual. The oven element indicator light will light and the oven will work.
If 1 of the plates is not working at all, then it is going to be the plate itself, or a faulty regulator, you will have to take it apart to check the plate.
The other plate that you cannot control, needs the regulator replacing.
If it has a timer, make sure that it is set to manual, and not on auto, as it it will not come on if it is on auto, sometimes indicated by flashing display.
This is how I reset my U1420NOGB/FD7907 NEFF double electric oven that I inherited also without an instruction book.
There are 4 buttons in a row and then a timer knob that moves left and right. The first button is black, second has an arrow,,third has an arrow and fourth a hand symbol on it.Hold down together, the black button and the arrow button next to it.Without releasing either, twist the timer knob clockwise(to the right)until correct time is showing.Do not release the other buttons at all ,until time is ok.If you miss correct time keep going ,dont go backwards. When time is correct,,release black and arrow buttons and auto will stop flashng ,and oven work.If auto doesn,t stop flashing at this point press the button with hand symbol (manual)on it once.
