Question about Microsoft Digital Image Suite 10

1 Answer

I realize microsoft no longer supports this product, just another reason why i hate them now, it was once on the compatible list for win 7, but has since moved to the incompatible list. Windows Live Essentials is a far cry from any image editing program and should not even be considered as an acceptable substitute. My beef is that this program DID work on Win 7 and for quite a long time. When I began having misc. issues I realized it occured after updates were applied, so I turned auto updates off, etc. This was fine for a while. Then it became an issue where I literally just had to leave my laptop on and/or hibernate otherwise I would have to do a system restore in order for it to work and now it won't work at all. I am really upset about this. My other lap top that was Vista in which it ran on fine was crashed by Microsoft's support center who will not assume any responsibility and was clearly there fault otherwise I would use it on that pc. The learning curve for things I do work related is to intense and time consuming in Photoshop right now and embarassed to explain i don't have the supplementary knowledge to complete my tasks. Bottom line, IT DID WORK ON WIN 7 so why won't it now?

Hello d011
It's just not compatible . You were just lucky it worked for a while .
The only solution is a workaround :
If you have the W XP install disc , you can install a virtual version of W XP on your machine from http://www.vmware.com/products/player/
If you still have the install disc , you can also partition your primary and install W XP on the new partition from http://download.cnet.com/Partition-Wizard-Home-Edition/3000-2094_4-10962200.html.
Back up your data first.
I have Win 7 on my primary and installed Win XP on my secundary . Works like a charm .
Have a nice day ,
Best regards,
Fanaudi .

Update windows xp to Windows 10 explain steps.....XP TO WHERE TO END AT WINDOWS 10 INSTALLATION

You almost certainly can't. Windows XP is no longer supported and hasn't been for years. There is a compatibility checker on the Microsoft site that will see if your hardware and the software you have on the computer will run Windows 10. I had XP and had a high end PC built and purchased Windows 7 Pro. I then took the free upgrade to Windows 10.

I can not add windows 7 in my laptop

There is no reason you can load Windows 7 on a Lennovo G580, all you need is a Windows 7 32/64bit Installation DVD with a Product Key. I assume you laptop has a 64bit compatible processor. The Support for your laptop: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?DocID=HT073548 Supports Win 7 and Win 8. Are you doing a downgrade?

Webcam "Apex" will not work on Win 7

My only suggestions relate to going to the web site for your Apex camera and contacting support for help, or looking for a download location on their site for drivers, specifically for Win 7. And for looking to see whether the application itself has a compatibility option to make it 'retro-fit' to an earlier version of Windows, like XP.

Unfortunately, there are a number of types of hardware of many different brands which never got compatibility with Win 7. Microsoft has a Hardware Compatibility List which you can find by doing a search on their web site. You might want to check the list to see whether the camera can be made compatible.

So, begin with the web site and see what you can find.

Then try for the compatibility option:

You must right-click on the icon for the application for the Apex camera, then click on properties to see whether there is an option to change the compatibility to an older (XP) version of Windows. That may make the camera work. You will know pretty quickly because if you right click on the icon, and click on properties, there will either be a "compatibility" tab or not.

Sorry I could not be of more help.

Driver Scanner 1248ub Driver for win7

Unfortunately, there is no compatible driver for win 7. THe Mustek support center says the following:
Scanners designed to work with older versions of Windows may not function properly after upgrading your computer's operating system.
If Windows® 7 is not listed on the product driver download page for a specific product, no support is offered for Windows® 7. Newer scanner products available will have support for Windows® 7.

Do I need Windows XP Mode?
Windows 7 has several built-in tools to help with program compatibility and Windows XP programs should be installed directly on Windows 7. Windows XP Mode runs many older Windows XP productivity programs and that are not natively compatible with Windows 7, thus helping realize cost savings and reduce possible operational downtime by extending the life of existing software. Visit the Windows 7 Compatibility Center to find software that works with Windows 7.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

It's the best of both worlds: The new Windows XP Mode lets you run older Windows XP business software right on your Windows 7 desktop.

Designed primarily with small- and medium-sized businesses in mind, Windows XP Mode comes as a separate download and works only with Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise. Windows XP Mode also requires virtualization software such as Windows Virtual PC. Both are available free on the Microsoft website.

This is an outdated product and no longer supported by Pinnacle. Old drivers are still available. Click here and here to view them. Or click here for a complete list of archived products.

Note that the drivers may or may not work with Win 7 and no one other that Pinnacle can provide appropriate drivers. For the software you can try the Compatibility mode.

Is your ASUS Windows 7 compatable? Check at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx

Since your distribution was school wide, there must be some IT department at the school that can assist you with this repair and advice.

Be aware, many manufacturers provide special features on their products (through software modification) that are not from Microsoft. You indicate this upgrade is from by the school but you don't say whether it is a standard or modified edition. Once you change the operating system, such as you have, those special XP - Asus features will disappear UNLESS (1) Asus includes the features with the new release of Win 7 Enterprise, andand yo have it, or (2), ASUS makes those features available to upgraders for download.

Hi I have some problems to instal my printer Lexmark Inkjet X5650 in Win 7

First thing to do for this my friend is check the Microsoft Compatability Listing to see if your printer is supported.

Search 'Microsoft Copmpatability List' for a link.

If your printer is not listed, visit www.lexmark.com/support for a proper driver for 7. If they dont list your printer under 7, they dont support it either. You might find a 3rd party driver that will work.

If the OS and Lexmark dont support the printer, your options get real limited. Option one: hook your printer to a different computer that will run it (98/XP/Vista) and use it as a print server on your network. Option two: new printer.
