There must be a problem in the wiring of your adapter.Get it checked by a professional to avoid permanent damage to your laptop and adaptor. And if its not charging the laptop,it means that there is no proper supply from the adaptor to your laptop.

My gateway nv79c54u laptop ac plug doesnt charge just blinks orange

When you connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? If not then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

Why wont my eeepc charge ???

There could be three very good reasons I can think of immediately.

1) Check your power adapter to be sure it is working properly. You may want to find someone with a voltage meter to do this.

2) Check the power adapter plug on the laptop. These plugs are bad about becoming loose over time. When we use our laptops we tend to move them around especially if we are holding them in our laps. This causes the adapter plug to be pulled back and forth which can actually break it from the motherboard inside the laptop. No connection...no charge.

3) Be sure your battery is still good. Batteries can go bad like anything else and many times are the reason the PC won't charge.

My laptop won't charge. I have an acer aspire 5315 that won't charge, I had problems with the charging adapter before so I thought that was the problem and replaced it, the replacement worked for...

For a test -Remove the battery from the laptop. (leave it out) -Plug in the adapter and turn the laptop on. -Gently wiggle the adapter plugged in

If the computer powers off the solder and/or pins have broken loose from the DC jack. This is very common. Average repair bill is around $150, if your in the Denver Colorado Area I can do the repair for about $50
If it won't turn on while you wiggle the adapter and hit the power button then the adapter is bad again sadly

My computer won't charge! The problem is that where i plug in the charging adapter that "little hole" is loose and won't keep the adapter in, ultimately not letting it charge

This is really a physical damage to the slot for the plug.
There are some tweaks that you might try to keep it there, like pushing it and holding it with something, or use scotch tape or something similar, but ultimately it might affect the life of your battery.
There's really nothing substantial you can do other than changing the power adapter.

The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty.
Check power adapter’s DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced.

When i plug in power charger, it says the computer doesnt recognize charger, and the computer wont charge. I have to plug it in a few times, then the battery will charge

Hello.

The most common reasons are the power adapter/cord and power jack.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.
The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Hope this helps.
