Question about Dishwashers
Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
If this is a NEW unit and you have problems check the sink connection. If the installer (who ever) installed the unit to the garbage disposal and did not remove the plug in the side of the garbage disposal it will NOT drain no matter what you do.
If it is connected to an Air Gap take the top off of the Air Gap by pulling the outer cover straight up and off. Then unscrew the inner cap nut noting the installed position of the cap (only goes on one way!) Inspect for any pieces of rubber or debris. Remove any debris and re-install the inner U cap and nut.
Last check the drain hose for kinks. (Possibly it folded over when the unit was pushed into place.) Make sure to inspect the whole hose from the dishwasher connection to the sink connection for any signs of kinks. Straighten the hose and if it keeps folding over tape something to the outside of the hose to keep it straight. (Anything about 10 inches long, hard and straight) Tape in 2 places.
If all of the above does not resolve the issue look inside the tub under the lower wash arm for any signs of plastic that may have been left in the machine post installation that is now covering the screens / inlet vanes to the pump.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
