My sony vaio laptop was from japan. model VPCEB37FJ. I want to change the language from japaneese to english

The original language of the operating system cannot be changed without also updating the associated driver files, and those driver files are not available in languages other than the one that ships on the computer. However, the operating system can be configured to display in a different language by upgrading to the Ultimate version of the Vista operating system and then installing and using the appropriate Windows Vista language pack.

To change the language settings, a language pack must first be installed. Follow this procedure to download and install a language pack.

  1. Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel .
  2. In the Control Panel window, click Clock, Language, and Region .
  3. In the Clock, Language, and Region window, under Region and Language , click Install or uninstall display languages .
  4. Under Choose to install or uninstall display languages , choose Install display languages .

  5. Under Choose your method of install , choose Launch Windows Update

    png61178.png

  6. Under Select the updates you want to install , select the Language Packs to install and click the OK button.

NOTE: The Language Pack updates will be listed under the optional updates .

Windows 7 language pack

Installing the Language Pack:

1. Start off by accessing the Control Panel through the Start Menu
Then select Change Display Challenge under the Clock, Language, and Region Box. If you're in Classic View, select Regional and Language Options.

2. Make sure you're on the "Keyboards and Languages" tab and click on Install/Uninstall Languages

3. Select the 2nd option and Browse to your DVD drive or where you had previously extracted the ISO. You only need to navigate to the directory in which the language pack is in. For some reason, the ISO doesn't show up as a selectable option. (Microsoft may offer these language packs as optional updates in the near future.)

4. Click Open and Windows will automatically find the language pack. Accept the EULA and Install the Language Pack. This can take quite a while. Once you're done, you'll be asked if you want to switch to the installed language pack. Whenever you switch language packs, you will have to log off and log back in for the changes to take into effect. In the future when you want to change language packs that have already been installed, head back to the "Keyboards and Languages" tab under Regional and Language Options and you should be able to select from a menu of different language packs. Just want to note that Windows 7 Beta actually switched to my new language pack without me having to log off even though it had asked me to.

These Language Packs are untested, please download at your
own discretion:

How we can change windows7 langueg for exmple fraench to english

Windows 7 language packs are available for computers that are running Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise. The Windows 7 language packs can be installed only from the Optional Updates section in Windows Update. However, these language packs are not available on the Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) server or through the Microsoft Download Center.

To download and install a Windows 7 language pack, follow these steps:
    1. Start Microsoft Update. To do this, click Start Collapse this imageExpand this image vistastartbutton.jpg, type Microsoft Update in the Start Search box, and then click Microsoft Update in the Programs list.
    2. Click the optional update links for the language packs.
    3. Under the Windows 7 Language Packs category, select the desired language pack.

Note If you install many additional language packs, the disk space and system performance are affected. In particular, disk space and system performance are affected during servicing operations, such as Service Pack installations. Therefore, we recommend that you only add a language pack to your computer if you will use the language pack.
    4. Click OK, and then click Install updates to start the download and installation process.

When you install a language pack, you can change the interface language of Windows 7 to the language that you select.
Language packs also let multiple users who share a computer select distinct display languages. For example, one user can select to see the dialog boxes, menus, and other text in Japanese, whereas another user can select to see the same content in French.

To change the display language, follow these steps:
      1. Click Start, and then type Change display language in the Start Search box.
      2. Click Change display language.
      3. In the drop-down list that appears, select the language that you want, and then click OK.
To uninstall a language pack, follow these steps:
      1. Click Start, and then type Uninstall display language in the Start Search box.
      2. Click Install or uninstall display languages.
      3. Click Uninstall display languages.
      4. Select the language or the languages that you want to uninstall, and then click Next.
      5. Follow the rest of the steps to uninstall this language or these languages.
After you install the desired language packs, you can hide unwanted language packs in Windows Update. To hide unwanted language packs in Windows Update, follow these steps:
      1. Click the Windows 7 Language Packs category in the Select the updates you want to install page to highlight all the language packs.
      2. Right-click the highlighted updates, and then select Hide update.
