Well, my bros does that as well. and i just push on the disc tray a little, like push it up if the console is laying down.. it also could mean the motor that pushes the disc tray is off or disfunctional.

Tray wont open.what should i do?

Just Press eject wait 1 sec then slap the console right over
the cd rom drive HARD ,you may have to do it twice to get
the timing right. Then that will break the magnetic seal
holding the spindle and allow the eject motor to lower
the laser sled and push out the tray.

When the tray finely opens Quickly unplug the power
to prevent the tray from closing accidentally . Then
take some petroleum jelly on a q tip and smear a thin
film of it under the tray guides (tracks) then plug it
back in and open and close the tray a few time to
work it in. The drive will eventually need to be opened
and have all the grime cleaned out of the teeth of the
gears. if you need more info ,ask

My xbox 360 tray wont stay close how do i fix it

Do you mean the CD tray won't stay closed? If so check the simple things first. The button that you push to open and close the tray is actually a lever that pushes a much smaller button below it. Make sure that your eject button is not stuck down for some reason. Check your cd tray and the bay to make sure nothing got inside that is preventing the cd tray from closing all the way. I believe if something gets in the way the tray will automatically re-open. You can also take some compressed air and blow out the cd tray to remove any debris that may be blocking the tray from closing.
If none of the above simple steps work I believe it boils down to 2 things. 1. An object inside the case or tray that is preventing it from closing all the way or... 2. The eject button is stuck down.
If your comfortable with it you can take apart your xbox case and remove your CD/DVD player and ensure the button works properly. You can do a search on this site or youtube for instructions on how to take the case apart if needed. Once the case is apart the CD/DVD player is easily removed. You will then notice that the switch you press on the outside of the Xbox to open and close the CD/DVD tray is actually a lever that presses a much smaller switch directly on the front of the CD/DVD unit. You can then test your eject switch directly by pressing the button directly with a ball point pen or a pin. If the bay does not open and close properly at this point it may be necessary to replace the CD/DVD player and I do not know if it can be replaced or not. Hope this helps.

Disc tray wont open when eject button pressed on ps2

The disc tray motor needs to be replaced. You can find one on ebay. A relatively easy fix. Good luck!

My xbox 360 disk tray will not open it wont even open a little some one help me

have you tried to open the drive using the xbox dashboard, when you press the eject button does the power light flash? is there any noises coming from the drive when you try to eject.

It could be a faulty drive and the only way to get into the drive is by opening the console up and this could void your warranty. if your hearing noises (motor spinning) from the drive it could be the drive belt has snapped (like a small elastic band) you could have dirt in the gears and cogs jamming the drive. so you wouldnt hear noises (except the disc spinning if there is a disc in it).
if the power light flashes when you press eject more than likely it is the drive belt or dirt in gears.

PS2 Disk tray wont go in all the way

IF FOR SOME REASON THE TRAY DOES NOT OPEN, OR HALF-WAY OPENS FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING STEPS TO RE ALIGN IT.

STEP 1) TAKE THE COVER OFF, BY UNSCREWING IT FROM THE BOTTOM.

STEP 2) NOW TAKE OFF THE 4 SMALL SCREWS ON TOP OF THE CD ASSEMBLY, ONCE YOU TAKE THEM OFF THE TOP SHOULD COME OFF EASILY.

STEP 3 ) YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE THE SPINDLE AND THE LASER NOW. BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE TURN THE PS2 ON AND HIT THE POWER BUTTON. ONCE YOU HIT THE POWER BUTTON THE SPINDLE SHOULD SPIN AND THE LASER SHOULD MOVE FOWARD AND BACKWARDS AND ALSO UP AND DOWN. IF ALL THIS HAPPENS THEN YOUR PROBLEM PROBABLY IS THE TRAY IF ONE OF THOSE THINGS DON'T MOVE THEN THATS PROBABLY YOUR PROBLEM. NOW HIT THE REST BUTTON AND SEE WHAT HAPPEN

STEP 4) IF THE TRAY IS MISALIGNED, LOOK TOWARDS THE FRONT LEFT SIDE OF THE TRAY YOU WIL SEE TWO SCREWS, TAKE THOSE OFF SO YOU CAN TAKE THE TRAY OFF.

STEP 5) ONCE THE SCREWS ARE OFF, LIFT THAT SIDE AT ABOUT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE AND PUL THE TRAY OUT.

STEP 6) BEFORE WE TRY TO REALIGN IT TURN THE POWER BACK ON AND HIT THE EJECT BUTTON, WE JUST WANT TO PROVE ALL THE GEARS AND THE MOTORS ARE WORKING. IF THEY DO MOVE THEN THE ONLY THING NEEDED IS THE REALIGNMENT. IF THE GEARS DON'T MOVE YOU PROBABALY HAVE A BAD MOTOR OR A GEAR MIGHT BE BAD

STEP 7) NOW TO REALIGN IT. MAKE SURE THE CD TRAY SLIDE, THE WHITE PIECE, IS ALL THE WAY TO THE LEFT.

STEP 8) WE ARE GOING TO SLIDE THE TRAY ALL THE WAY IN, BUT MAKE SURE ITS DONE IN A 45 DEGREE ANGLE AND THAT THE TRAY IS ONLY CONNECTED TO THE RIGHT. ONCE ITS IN ALL THE WAY LOWER THE TRAY TO THE LEFT SIDE. IF IT HITS THE PIECE IN THE BACK-LEFT PULL IT A BIT FORWARD. IT SHOULD FALL IN EASILY. NOW TURN THE PS2 ON AGAIN AND EJECT THE TRAY, HOPEFULLY IT OPENS ALL THE WAY. IF IT DIDN'T START AT STEP 5 AND START AGAIN. SOMETIMES IT TAKES 2 OR 3 TIMES TO GET IT INTO THE RIGHT PLACE. Nothing comes up on tv when i turn ps3 on and controllers wont connect

Read this very carefully. Turn off your ps3 from the back. Then turn it back on wait unit the light is red. Turn on the system through the front keep holding the power on. You will hear a beep one time that just tell you that the ps3 is powering on keep holding the button until you hear the second beep this will rest your video setting. If that dosnt work call me at sony

Ouch, horrible problem.
Try these:
1. hold the eject button for 30 seconds
2. leave the xbox off for a few minutes
3.try a new outlet[may not have enough power to do anything]
4.get a new power cord
Hopefully this helps

No power light coming on just the fan starting up and staying on

1. check your power cord make sure its in all the way.
2.if that's not the case your ribbon cable running from your reset/eject button is wasted or has come unplugged. if you have to get a new one ordering one is all most impossible .. getting your hands on a junk one is better..(( NOT ALL PS2'S ARE THE SAME INSIDE)) some have a wide ribbon some have a thin one.. but ill post a vid showing ya where they go..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdkllqCvAG0
here is the link just copy it into your browser.
