You can either scan using the panel on the printer or import a scan using an application such as Photoshop or other scan accepting applicatiion. To get instructions on scanning using the control panel on the printer, download the user manual from:

For copy, first u need to scan a document. save it in ur desired format. then print it. give necessary instructions in scan & print settings. color/black&white, dpi, page sizes etc. etc.

You probably need a new printhead, but that problem cann also be caused by the purge or cleaning station not working properly. If you do a cleaning cycle with no carts. and the little pads in the printhead come back with no ink on them then the purge is working and you need a new printhead.

Try using the cannon software controls to use the scanner if the button does not work.

This is what the service manual says:
(1) Clean the Document glass.
(2) Check the connection
between the contact sensor
and SPCNT board (JCCD1).
(3) Replace the SCANNER
unit.
(4) Replace the SPCNT board

press the "scan " button on the printer or open the printer software in your computer and "scan" from there.

if your using windows programs, word etc,
click "insert"
"picture"
"from scanner"

Here this step by step to resetting waste ink counter printer Canon Pixma MP110

1. You will include printer.
2. press button Menu, then Scan, Copy and again Scan. All - entered into the service regime. 3. Select Counter.
3. Press button Copy - all Pampers is discarded into zero.
4. You will turn off printer by button POWER.

Mine has the same problem. The only difference is it threw a few errors first (weird stuff like improper cartridge, etc.) and I had to unplug/replug in the power to get it to work. Now, nothing at all. Dead. I really liked this unit too! Always used brand new Canon ink. Any ideas?
