Question about One For All URC-9910 LCD Remote Control

URC-9910 remote: The RF part for this remote stopped working.

Hi, I have a receiver upstairs and I control that receiver using a URC-9910 from downstairs via the RF-IR command center. Things worked smooth for about 6 months. Now the RF part seems to be broken. I cannot control the receiver from downstairs. However, if I go upstairs and POINT the remote at the RF-IR command center, then it works fine. But even if I am upstairs, if I point the remote away from the command center, then it does not work right. I wonder if it is because of any setting on the remote? Any help will be deeply appreciated. Thanks in advance. - Raghu

Same problem.  Replace battery, no effect.  Range doesn't matter.  RF just stopped working.

If your remote RF was working when new, works correctly when it is pointed directly at the RF command center, but not from a different location, I suggest you check for CFL (compact fluorescent lights).

It is a know issue that certain CFL bulbs produce RF frequencies that may interfere with remote controls.

Also from the owner's manual.......
Optimizing IR/RF Command Center Reception
Here are some adjustment tips for optimizing the operation of your
IR/RF Command Center:
• Aim the URC-9910 remote control toward the room where the
IR/RF Command Center is located.
• Do not position the IR/RF Command Center near metal objects,
such as heat ducts.Metal can absorb RF signals.
• Make sure the batteries in the URC-9910 remote control are fully
charged.Try replacing them if you are not sure (see Installing
Batteries
on page 4).Weak batteries will affect the single range.
• Make sure that the URC-9910 remote control is not being affected
by other RF transmissions (e.g., garage door openers, cordless
telephones, etc.).
NOTE: The tests for range limits of the URC-9910 remote control and the
IR/RF Command Center were conducted in open-air distance tests.Actual
signal distance will be based on the construction of the building the unit is
being used in, as well as other factors, such as outside interference.

Also as suggested, you may have to move the RF command center to another location.
If all else fails, your command center may be faulty, and have to be repaired or replaced.
An auction site may be the only replacement option for this discontinued remote.
Best wishes, Greg

I have the same remote as yours and occasionally the RF remote is not working due the interference signal from outside or next door at certain hours.
My suggestions:
(1) To relocate the receiver and reposition the anntena for better reception of the RF signal from the remote unit.
(2) Replaced the battery.

Hope these help!

What codes do I use on the urc 9910 for att u-verse?

I don't think att u-verse existed when the 9910 were made so there probably isn't a code in the remote. And as far as I can tell the upgrade program for codes for new products is dead, dead, dead.

The only option I know is to use the JP1 connector under the battery door to program a new code. I just added several links to information on this to the tips & how to's section for this. If you are good with computers check them out. Scrool to the bottom of the link to find them. Good luck! Troubleshooting Support for One For All URC 9910 LCD Remote Control

Kameleon URC-9964

I have the One for all 9910 RF remote and I use the device code 0476. I had to program the list, a, b, and c keys as learned keys.

I did a jp-1 program on it, but do not believe it changed the Motorala codes.
