Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Do you have the 19 Volt cord that goes from the Dell HA65NS1-00 to the Dell D-630 laptop computer? Let me reiterate.... I'm looking for the 19 Volt DC cord that goes from the power adaptor to the PC, NOT the 120 Volt cord that goes from the wall outlet to the power adaptor.

Ebay have a host of sellers that sell complete adapters from as little as £9.99 GBP. It is not worth repairing the olt unit.

I need to know which pin is the live and neutral for a behringer dx 1000 pro mixer

On the power line cord the neutral usually has a wider blade. Also the cord MAY have ribs on the side of the neutral conductor. The polarity of this cord is NOT important to the operation... the power supply does NOT care.

If you are asking about the cord that goes from the power supply to the mixer, then we need to talk further. This three wire connector has a ground and two 19 VAC hots. Describing the pins in the triangular pattern would be risky... HOWEVER you can use an ohmeter to find the single ground by looking for near zero ohms on one and only pins of the mixer to a ground on one of the 1/4 inch jacks. The dual 19 VAC power supply is rated at 1.5 Amps (1500ma) for each of the 19 VAC outs.
Note these 19 Volt hots come from either side of a 38 volt centertapped transformer with the centertap to the ground.

I have a hp pavilion dv7 and the power socket has come a lose i need to know which wire goes where.....

The DC Power Jack that the AC adapter (Charger) plugs into?

Look into the DC Power Jack with a magnifying glass and light you'll see it's a center pin surrounded by a barrel. Barrel has an inside and an outside.

1) Center pin. Gold and buried down in the plastic. Connected to WHITE wire at motherboard connector.

2) Inside barrel has 4 Brass fingers.
Orient the laptop so the LED is at 12 o'clock and you'll see fingers at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock.

These fingers carry the + 19 volt power to computer.
The ones at 6 and 9 o'clock do, Noon and 3 are not connected.
+19 Volt power arrives at motherboard connector on RED wire.

3. Outside barrel has six brass fingers, at 2, 3, 4, 8, 9 and 10 o'clock.
2, 3, and 4 are not used,
2, 8, 9 and 10 are the power return (common, or ground) to computer.
It arrives at motherboard on BLACK wire.

4. LED is connected to YELLOW wire and controlled by computer.
Other side of LED is jumpered to a Black wire,(Ground), outside barrel 8, 9, and 10 o'clock.

Where can I obtain a power supply for a DELL E193FP LCD Monitor, preferably new or used if that's all I can get ?

If you are talking about the power plug that goes to the monitor, it is a standard three prong computer power cord, and is identical to the cord on the computer.
The optional sound bar requires a power brick. It is a two part power adapter which has a large brick like piece with a power cord on one end and the rca jack on the other.

I am looking for a power cord for a gateway laptop ms2274 19 volt

If you have one in your area, go to Microcenter and get a Kensington K33404 universal power supply. they come with multiple tips for all laptop makers and also have variable power setting. I use one with my HP and my brother with his Toshiba. They are only $25 at Microcenter. Or go to www.microcenter.com and order one on-line.

Power port issues as well

Must solder loose connect. Need you take it to good pc tech, or have steady and be electronically inclined.

But, first you check to see if adapter is fully working. The adapters have two current flows, is positive 19 volts, and negative -19 volt. One can die, and the other works. In my case, the 19v that powered my laptop worked. This happened to me twice.

The best way is to use multimeter but this involves taking the adapter apart. The easiest way is test it on another laptop that work correctly. Let the laptop powered by battery stay on for a couple of minutes then plug you adapter in, and if charge light blinks on your adapter is okay.

Laptop must almost completely taken apart, down to the motherboard and loose plug connection should carefully soldered.

Go to cevice manager and update all monitors and/or visual devices and restart. It's possibly a conflict. You could also try disconnecting a device (the printer is usually the culprit!) and trying again

Connecting Macbook with a compaq MP1400 digital projector

You're going to need a conversion dongle that goes from the Mini-DVI to VGA.

Then:
  1. Connect one end of the projector signal cable to the Video Graphics Array (VGA) connector on the projector.
  2. Connect the other end of the projector signal cable to the Digital Video Interface (DVI) connector or VGA connector on the notebook computer and tighten the screws.
  3. Connect the projector power cord to the power cord connector on the projector.
  4. Connect the other end of the power cord to an electrical outlet that is easily accessible and close to the projector.
  5. Turn on the projector first, then turn on the computer.
