If he deleted all the required info from the phone, the only solution would be to order a call data records from his wireless-carrier. The bad thing is that they probably won't give it to anyone except himself.
Some carriers allow to see your call data records on their web-site, but this, again, depends on a carrier. Since you haven't mentioned it, can't help any further.
