Question about Briggs & Stratton Briggs Stratton Lawnmower Lawn Mower Short Block
I had the same problem. It turned out to be a blocked carby and the way to fix is as follows;
- remove air filter
- start mower (assuming it now starts)
- place open hand over carby hole and then remove. The force of the spinning blades will **** through the blockage.
You may need to prime it first.
Hope that helps.

You probably still have old fuel and water in the carb itself.
take off the air filter and look for the bowl screw or clip *(depending on model)
You can drain the bowl and let some clean fuel run through the gas line as well.
If the new fuel was last years you might want to check the gas can for water as well.
I work at a mower shop and at this time of year we do a lot of these kinds of repairs.
Fuel today just isnt kind to equipment that sits around for any length of time.
