Do you know for sure that your system has a wireless Card installed?
If so, check the Device Manager and ensure it has the correct driver installed.
Do so by: Start Button/ Right Click "My Computer"/ Select "Manage"/ Go to the "Device Manager" Tab on the left of the pop-up window. See if there are any Yellow Exclamations or Question Marks. If everything is ok, You may need to enable it from within BIOS.

Not built in, you would have to buy a seperate wireless card and install it. USB ones however are very simple to install and only cost about $30-$40.

Wireless radio will not power on

Make sure the Wireless Switch on the side or in front of the laptop is turned on. Also you can toggle the wireless on or off by keystrokes. Normally you would Press and Hold the FN function key located at the lower left portion of the keyboard then hit the correct F1 thru F12 key that toggles the wireless. The correct F1 thru F12 key will have the wireless icon signal )))) on it or it might have the icon of a tower with the wireless signal icon )))).

Try changing which way you connect with the wireless. There are two ways. One way is allowing windows to control the connection (called Zero Config) or you can allow the software that came with the wireless card to control the connection. If you open the software that came with the wireless adapter it will say something like: Let this tool manage the wireless connection or Let Windows Zero Config manage the wireless connection. Switch them and see if you are able to get the radio on and connect.

My wireless doesnt work eventhough the wirelles LAN is enabled.

If you still cannot connect using wireless connection you need to double check if the wireless swicth is turned on on your laptop. If the switch is on and still not able to connect go to the device manager and check if you wireless adapter has a driver installed.

- click start > run > type "devmgmt.msc" w/o qoutes
- select network adapters (check if there is a bang on the adapter)
- If in case there is any error saying on the network adapter > right click select properties > driver tab > click rollback driver
- restart computer

In in case you are still having problems, leave a comment so i can further troubleshoot.

Wireless radio disabled

If you have a laptop and it has built in wireless adapter, it may have a switch or a button that you need to switch on in to turn on the wireless connection radio. Usually, it can be found on the sides or on the front panel of the laptop. On other laptops, you will need to hit some combination of keys on the laptop's keyboard to turn on the wireless connection radio, for example, Fn+F5. Please refer to the manual of your laptop for reference on how to turn on or enable its wireless radio.

By the way, what is the model of your laptop?

1997 sable changed radio and fuses clock and radio still doesn't work whatelse could it be

You need to identify the cable that feeds electricity to the radio when the ignition swicth is in the ON possition, and then identify the stanby power cable ( this is the cable that always has current even with the swicth on OFF possition) The Stanby cable goes to the cable marcked memory on your new radio. the other cable simply goes to the power suply conection on the new radio.

There is no button on these, there is a setting in the wireless configurator that allows you to enable/disable the radio. Make sure the radio is enabled. Radio throws most people, all it is is the wireless card. The card works on frequency, so therefore is considered a radio, confusing, I know. If the radio is enabled or it still doesn't work after enabling it, you may have a driver glitch, then uninstall the wireless drivers from the device manager, and reboot. The machine will find the wireless and reinstall the drivers. This should get you up and running.
