Question about Heating & Cooling
First check the battery terminal of the remote control for corrosion, using the smooth sandpaper or blade, gently scratch it to erase the rusted parts then check the signal using your digital camera or cellphone camera if it is functioning. Also if you can take it apart, check the board for bad solder joints most especially the battery terminal and the legs of the infrared emitter.
After you confirmed that the fault is not came from the remote control, this is a clear indication that the infrared reciever circuitry at your air conditioner was faulty.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
