First of all, Nikon doesn't make a battery grip for the D60 so I'm going to assume you mean any of the available third-party grips.

The grip fits into the battery compartment, replacing the battery, and attaches to the bottom of the camera, screwing into the tripod socket. It can hold two battery packs, doubling the battery capacity. Some grips also let you use AA batteries instead of the normal Li-ion battery packs. It also has a tripod socket of its own, so you can still mount your camera on a tripod.

Some people also find it more comfortable when turning the camera to shoot in portrait orientation. The grip gives you another shutter release button and some of the other controls so you still hold the camera with your hands in more-or-less the same position whether you shoot in landscape or portrait.

Of course, there is a cost for all this. The grip adds significantly to the bulk and weight of the camera.

My shutter release on the bowers battery grip does not work. Do I need to change a setting on the menu?

The battery grip is likely defective. Bower is not know for their high quality, but rather their afford-ability. If it is under warranty, I would recommend returning the unit and requesting a replacement from either the manufacturer or the retailer from which you ordered it. There is no setting in the menus to enable the vertical shutter release on the grip.

Will a Nikon Sigma 70-210 work on my nikon D60??

Assuming the lens has a Nikon mount, then it will fit and work on the D60. Sigma makes lenses for a variety of cameras; a lens with a Canon mount, for example, will not fit onto a Nikon camera. However, the 70-210 is a rather old lens. Unless it specifies "HSM" it will not autofocus on the D60. The D60 does not have an autofocus motor, relying on the lens to have one. Nikon calls such lenses "AF-S" while Sigma designates theirs "HSM".

Error in display

Press the shutter release again. Take out the battery and put it back in a while (1-2 min). Reset the camera with the reset button.

If this doesn't work, take it to the Nikon repair.

Nikon D60 "Press shutter release button again". Camera "stuck" and not working.

Remove the battery and let the camera sit for a few minutes. Reinsert the battery and turn the camera on. If the error persists, then consult with a Nikon-authorized service representative.

Nikon d60 - error. turn camera off and on again.

Locate the button behind the shutter release button with the green dot next to it. Locate the button at the back lower hand side of the D60 with the green dot next to it. Press both buttons at the same time.........This resets the D60 to its original settings and should resolve the problem.....

Need to take battery cover for my nikon d60 to install battery grip...how do i remove it?

No tools required! It simply snaps out. Open the battery door so it's at 90 degrees to the body and unsnap the pins where it pivots in the body. If you look closely, you'll see there is enough clearance for the pivot pins to snap out of its holders.

Will the Nikon SB600 speedlight work with the Nikon D60 Camera. All the instructions mention all the other Nikon camera's but not the D60. Will the auto flsh modes work with the auto modes of the camera

Yes. The SB-600 instructions don't mention the D60 because the SB-600 came out before the D60 existed. Bear in mind that the D60 does not have a commander mode so you can't use the SB-600 as a slave.

Basically, as far as the SB-600 instructions are concerned, just pretend that you have a D40.
