JD JS45 walk behind mover. Starts, runs fine for 5 minutes, then stalls, won't restart till i pull the spark plug and cool the motor, plug down. then same thing starts, runs for 5, stalls.

Probably either a fuel or a spark problem. You need to check for the presence of a good spark immediately the engine stops - by using a spark gap, a spare spark plug or a propriety spark indicator.

If the spark is found to be absent the fault is likely the ignition module but check all connections and the stop switch operation before replacing.

If the spark is present then the fault is probably fuel-related and is the sort of thing a tiny droplet of water in the carb could cause...

Why does it run for 10 mins, then stops?

Loosen Gas cap and see if that helps. Many times the Gas tank Vent gets clogged. When engine runs, it creates a suction and starves the engine of gas.

If the engine was stored with gas in it, sometimes the Rubber seat in the carburetor deforms and wont let the gas flow into the Carb Bowl at a fast enough rate to keep up with the running engine. The bowl empties (after 9 minutes) and the engine quits. Takes a while for the bowl to refill (5 minutes).

My 2000 catera cadillac is nnot running. It was running but about every 8 to 10 miles it would shut off and I would have to wait about 3-5 minutes and it would start running rough thou, the it shut off...

Lets focus on the plugs for a moment. All you really need to do is remove 1 plug and check to see if it is fowled. This will show you what one looks like and this video is part of my training program at work for my new master techs to view and tested on before they are certified Also, if your car is shaking, your look at BAD TIMING which needs to be set by an auto shop so the vehicle stops shaking. The most cost efficient way to do this is to pay for the TIMING first see if that fixes the problem, then if not you change the spark plugs yourself as you never know what the auto shop will put inside your heads!!! Estimated fees if you want a shop to change your plugs in SC is about $200 for an 8 cylinder and fee for the timing is about $75

16.5 horse runs great for about 5 min then abruptly dies. wont start for another 20-30 min. fresh fuel, fuel filter & lines and new plug. air filter cleaned also.

sounds like you may have a ground issue.check for loose wires and make sure there are no bare wires that are touching the frame..good luck

Leaf blower starts and runns ok for few mins then

Target your inspection towards the 'spark arrestor screen' in the outlet of the muffler.

Overfuel or 'rich' condition
Basics to check:
1) Spark plug - brown or dark brown - OK
a) is it carbon or fuel fouled
b) is there spark

2) Muffler remove for inspection
a) exhaust screen clean or plugged
b) inspect cylinder wall/piston as the flywheel is slowly rotated
3) Check Air filter for fuel saturation
4) Allow engine to run for 5 minutes to excess fuel from muffler
5) Fuel mixture ratio: Make sure the oil mix is per your manufactures recommendations
6) If after the above the engine is still smoking and blubbering:
Adjust carb mixture screws to a 'less rich' setting
*NOTE: only move mixture screws 1/8 of a turn at a time,
and try operation before any more adjustment
