When i first bought the hp ipaq hx2755 everything worked fine but i lost the charger and it died so i finally bought a new one and now the screen wont respond when i tap it so i did a hard soft and clean reset now it is stuck on the screen that says "tap the screen to set up your pocket pc" how do i unlock the screen??
Mine hp ipaq also froze up, but I tapped the screen until they moved around all in alignment, and I got the basic things back (my programs, Media Player etc. but I can't sync it with my computer. It doesn't recognize the name of my handheld.

If you have a car charger, try it first. If it works - you'll know to replace your home charger. If it doesn't, then you need to replace the battery. Make sure and charge the new battery for 24 hours before using it in your phone for the first time. If it's not the battery, you'll need to send your phone in for service / repair.
This happened to me and i got so mad that i broke the screen. But that was a good idea because then i got a new screen and now it works fine. Just get another screen and it should work fine. or you can just get the digitizer part and swap out your LCD parts.
I noticed the same thing on my IPAQ, and found that if I push the button (somewhat quicly) TWICE that it turns it off completely.
Also, you might want to check to see if you have it set up so that it will turn on when you push ANY button (it may not make a difference but I found that when I was putting mine back into the wallet holder I use, I'd inadvertently hit a button and it would turn back on!) :>
As an update I have contacted hp Warranty Support via phone and we determined that all the criteria was made to have the hx2755 returned to have diagnostics performed and repair if needed..
All my computers and periphery are HP as I have full confidence in the product line.
Have you considered software running in the background on your computer? Usually firewall/anti-virus software can block the connection. If you are running any Norton or McAfee products, it is likely the cause. Try disabling them, or boot into safe mode with networking support and see if the PDA responds from here. Safe mode loads a minimal set of drivers and no startup programs. Goodluck!
