the fast wash light flashes continiously, no screen to show an error code, serial number 1015562101, manufacturer number A8934WW

  • breneliz Mar 27, 2011

We have the manual which seems to be telling us that the dishwasher is not filling but when we open it there is water in the bottom. Have turned off power now and will see if this works in 10 minutes.

  • breneliz Mar 27, 2011

    Rick
We have had the power off for 10 minutes. Put back on, ran a fast wash, dishwasher fills then stops with flashing fast wash light. Manual says flashing fast wash light means inlet blockage or tap turned off but the bottom of the dishwasher is full of water. To empty it have to press a wash cycle, dishwasher empties then sounds like it runs for a short time and is now flashing rinse & hold which according to the manual means that the outlet blocked but there is no water in the dishwasher now so obviously it is emptying out and its hot so hot water has run through it.

also have you tryed turning off the breaker for 7 minutes this causes the control board to reset and then flip on the breaker and try running a wash to see if reseting the control has cleared the error less then 50 percent of the time this fixes the issue so I do not expect this to but do try this while I await your reply on the manual Thanks Rick

hello I have sent an email off to vulcan to obtain myself a copy of these error codes but seeing how you have your manual we can alleviate the problem that your having with yours first thing to do is shut off the water that goes into the machine. Following shutting off the water you would then disconnect the drain hose from where it goes into either your sink or garbage disposal make sure to check the end of the hose as well as where the hose plugs into for any blockages. Following your checking the hose and where it plugs into you would then try to test the unit with the drain hose going into a bucket on most units if you start the unit and await for it to fill and then you press cancel this activates the drain pump when this happens check to see how the flow of water is coming out the hose if the flow is a fast steady flow and you are still getting those lights we would then have to check the impellar on your pump and the flow sensor on the inside of the machine if the flow was weak or trickling then you would have a blockage still located at the other end of the drain hose or near or inside the drain pump itself in which you would then have to de-install the entire dishwasher and pull the entire unit out and first disassemble the drain hose from where it plugs into the drain pump and if needed the drain pump as well following this if you still were getting this drain error which is not saying the unit is not draining it is saying someting is obstructing the flow of water that is going out of your machine so perform the first test and run the drain hose into a bucket and observe the flow of water that goes into the bucket after checking for any blockages on the drain hoses end that goes into you piping remember to look inside or take something like a screwdriver to stick inside the hole to assure there is nothing jamming the hole and message me back with your finds Thanks I await your reply Rick

ok if its emptying at a good rate yet it isnt going into an actual wash the next thing to check would be the sump and motor assembly you have proven the drain in the unit is working properly by completeing your test you would need to watch the motor with the unit once again pulled out when it fills then it should go into the wash stage what is the motor doing is it doing nothing at all is it humming during this stage does it move at all? Hopefully vulcan will send me my request by tomorrow so i can see your unit and have the service manual as well for your specific unit I await your reply Thanks Rick

shut off the power at the breaker leave the unit off for 7-10 minutes this usually resets the control so it doesnt tell you whats the flashing eco light means in your manual as well? This is actually silly of this company not to post what there error codes like other major appliances do especially to techs il check my email in the morning and see if they have responded yet thanks again Rick

Fast flashing

The outlet pump could be triggered because the "anti flood device" polystireen float and micro switch at the base of the washer has detected a water leak from a leaky hose or water spil) This device automatically puts the pump out motor on and stops any washing process. You need to dry the base of the washer and determine what caused the water spill. This should start the washing prosess.

Kenmore Elite Dishwasher clean light ind flashing and won't start

You will have to reset the console. To do this, close the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

...all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2 minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.

Dishwasher flashes on Fast Wash

I am hoping I have just fixed mine with same problem. Couple weeks ago started stopping at start of cycle with fast button flashing. Check filters so one on top of unside machine and one on tap if you have one on there. Mine were blocked but still wouldnt work. I pulled out machine to find a kink in the water pipe. I have straightened this out and up to now its working. Fast button flashing refers to water inlet problem.

I just read this for the same problem: push sanitize, then heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, cancel, then open and close the door. It worked. The dishwasher is running correctly even as I type this.
