Question about Sport & Outdoor - Others

1 Answer

I have a model 111 red ryder, recently purchased, and it cocks solidly and fires with what seems to be fair power. Problem is that no BB comes out of the barrel, only occasionally one will dribble out. I'm not sure that the BB's are feeding into the firing mechanism, or it the assembly is just plugged. I tried to disassemble it to inspect it but quit for fear of not getting it back together properly. The gun is in good condition and I'd like to plink in the yard with the grandkids. If you have suggestions or a diagram of the inners I might be able to identify the problem. Thanks.........Lyman in Waterford, MI

Your Daisy has a gravity feed system. To ensure proper
operation, you should always raise the muzzle up while cocking
to ensure that a BB rolls into firing position. When raising
the muzzle, be sure the front sight is pointed upward since
the gun will not feed properly if it is on its side.

Take a look at the drawing to make sure you are keeping the barrel of the rifle straight and pointed up when cocking the rifle:
