All the "holes" are labeled. Be logical. That's why God gave you a brain and taught you how to read.

The tuner goes into TUNER. The two recorders go into TAPE ONE and TAPE TWO.

If you want to equalize recordings, put the equalizer before the recorder. Otherwise, sell it.

Buy decent RCA cables, but don't buy very expensive ones (say, more than $15 each). Wal-Mart, Amazon, Radio Shack, Best Buy, etc.

I have a Sony TC-WE605S And neither of my decks works. They do not transfer the tape. They will make a sound like they are running for a few seconds. But they aren't. The counters don't count like...

I'm almost 100% certain that the belts have rotted and broke. Unfortunately, they are NOT easy to change... if you can even find replacements.

Was given an Ampex AG-440 tape deck that stopped recording after sitting for about six months. Any ideas? (I lost the Manual) Everything else works fine. When put into record mode all lights are lit...

try cleaning the record head, Most people only clean the play back heads on tape players, the record head is just off to one side of the main playback heads , you can use a Qtip and rubbing alcohol to do the cleaning

Help

  1. press and hold the "clock" button. The time should start flashing.
  2. Adjust the hour by using the square silver buttons for "skip backward" or "skip forward" on the CD controls.
  3. Press the "clock" button again so that the minutes are now flashing.
  4. Adjust the minutes with the same buttons used to adjust the hour.
  5. Press the "Prog Set" button to conclude the process.

Technics RS-TR272 dual cassette deck

Ahh, Another Dual cassette deck. These are typically not worth a repair charge. I went looking for a service manual but Hi Fi Engine did not have one but they had a Owners Manual. Any unit that has a specification as to wow and flutter starting new at .18% was never made to be a long lasting deck of any quality. I don't like to be negative about people equipment but you might be better off getting a better deck from the start. If you think it is worth the repair, then send it to someone but I don't think you will want to sink $100 into a unit like this.
I am not saying it is unrepairable but that with what you come out in the end you could have made a better choice for a deck to buy.
It is probably a bad solder joint or bad capacitor on the circuit board.
I am in Chicago and would look at it for you if you want.

Rca rs 2620 power but no audio

I had the sane problem: No audio out from any source. Although I was unable to find a schematic or service manual, I did find the defective part was labeled on the circuit board as Q401 and replaced it with RadioShack part number 276-2009 (MPS2222A NPN Transistor TO-92 case NPN silicon). This is not an exact match, but is available at most RadioShack locations for under $1 and has fixed the problem.
