Removing programs or documents or pictures will give you room on your hard drive. What you need to do is run defrag on your computer to get your files back together again and this will help get your speed back up again. To do this just click start (lower left hand corner of your screen)Then go to Accessories and click on that. Then go to system tools and click on that. First use disk clean up when that completes then go back and use disk defragmentor. This should get your computer speed back up again.

I hope this helps you out.

With ample memory added can Win 7 be run on this machine? If so, are the necessary drivers "out there"?

It could, but bootup might be pretty slow, and performance might also be slow. Can't say about the drivers, it's not one I've tried. I have run Win7 on stuff as old as a Pentium III, and it does eventually come up and work.

It's not the iOS that's slow. It's how much stuff is on the phone.
The more apps, videos, songs, whatever. The slower the phones gonna run.

I have iOS 4.2.1 and mine runs fast, reliable, and does perfectly. But I also leave atleast 1gb free

Labtop running slow

Laptops do slow down over time as get cluttered with stuff.

I'd recommend using Ccleaner - it's free and it automatically scans for useless stuff and then lets you delete it.

Another thing you can do if you're more advanced is to go to Start > Run and type in "msconfig", without the quotes. If you don't have Run in your Start menu, try holding the windows button (between Ctrl and Alt on the left side) and then pressing R.

If you go to the Startup tab, you'll see a list of programs that start up when your PC starts - that's where most of the slow-down is from. Uncheck anything you don't use, but make sure you don't remove your anti-virus from the list.

Runs very slow.

There may be something lodged in the calculator I/O port. Blow on it or use compressed air to dislodge the piece. Do not use the tip of a pencil, as the graphite (the black stuff) is an electric conductor.
