Question about Sony Blu-ray/dvd player BDP-S1
In most cases, the issue might be with the Java content on the new Blu-ray discs is making this issues. The Blu-ray technology is developing everyday and adding more and more features to the existing technology. Hence it is required to make the Blu-ray Player up-to-date by installing the latest firmware update available from the manufacturer (who ever it is). If the issue persists after installing the firmware update, the would have been with the disc. Check the disc with another player, try different discs with same player.

possibly what hass happened is that your disk has got wedged, (or that someone tried to insert more than 1 disk)
try GENTLY shaking the unit (unplugged) to see if the disk mechanism frees itself.
as it is NEW you really shouldn't do any more than this as it would invalidate the warranty, take it back to the shop you got it from and they should handle it for you, Tell them not to forget that you have a disk in the drive.
