Question about Cuisinart DFP-14BC Custom Food Processor

1 Answer

The food processor stops working after use. I know there is a reset "hole" to make it start again. I can't see where it is and cannot find it in the manual. Please tell me where it is so I can reset it.

Not all food processor have a reset button, some don't have. You have to be make sure that the unit is in fit, suited because it will on the interlock switch (the safety switch) before it operates normally.
I hope I give you idea regarding your food processor problem.

Food Processor's light turns on but blades do not turn. Worked for about 5 minutes than stopped. It started to work again for about 10 seconds running sluggishly and sputtering, then stopped.

There will be a switch activated by correct engagement of the bowl, lid and pusher. Locate and activate that switch without the bowl on and see how it runs then. If it does then you need to figure out which of the bowl parts is not operating the switch properly. If activating that switch changes nothing then then you will need to be looking inside the motor housing, so far it's a place I haven't been on that model.

The robot coupe will stop working periodically during use. The reset button on the bottom pops out after it has been used for a short while. I run a kitchen and it can be very frustrating trying to get...

It is overheating, probably because it is being overworked. Some common problems are overloading the bowl, or forcing too much food into the hopper on top. Once it overheats, it will kick out again rather quickly the next time unless the motor has time to cool. If you are shredding cheese, slow down on the amount of cheese forced into the blade. If you are trying to mix heavy dough you are probably overloading the bowl as well. This machine can't handle over a pound of pizza dough without overheating. The reset button is there to keep from burning the motor out. If you continue to reset and force feed the machine, it will burn the motor out. Good luck, hope this helps.

I have a small Cuisinart food processor and I cannot figure out how to turn it on. It has two levers low and high. I have it plugged in and the lid on? Please help. Fiona Slattery 858-752-8591

Hi,

Your PowerBlend Duet™ comes with a food processor button. This button is the perfect speed for all your food processing tasks. Always use this speed when using the food processor. You may also use the Pulse button with this function for pulse-chopping.
To use your food processor, make sure that the bowl is assembled properly and the blade or slicing/shredding disc and the cover are locked into place.
When you use the control panel, the LED will light next to each button you press.
Press the On button. For continuous operation, press the Food Processor button. Motor will start if you have followed assembly instructions.
To turn motor off, press the Food Processor button again or the Off button.
For on/off operation, called pulse-chopping or pulsing, press the On button, press the Pulse button, and then press and release the
Food Processor button the desired number of times. Motor runs as long as you hold the Food Processor button down. The motor stops when you release control switch. Try it a few times.
You control the duration and frequency of pulses by the length of time you hold the Food Processor button down and the rate at which you press it. Pulses should be short bursts. Allow enough time between pulses to let food in work bowl fall to bottom.
Always use the Food Processor button for pulse/chopping. Never turn cover back and forth to start and stop processor.

I have all the accessories to juice an orange but can['t make it work in my mini prep pro food processor

I would just remove and replace the work bowl, and then reposition the strainer, etc again. I don't know what the magic is, but if I just put everything back in palce exactly as the user manual lays out, I can always get it to work again.

Cuisinart Food Processors – Motor Test

First, do a motor test by removing the work bowl completely and using a pen to press in the grey button on top of the base (with the food processor turned on of course), toward the back. If the processor spins, the motor is still good. At that point, I would inspect the work bowl pieces, lid, pusher assembly, etc for cracks/damage. If all appears well, insert ALL the pieces back into place and try again. If even one piece is out of place, the processor will not spin.

If it no longer spins, the motor has a problem.

Good luck!

My food processer does not work

I had the exact same problem. The red light came on when I hit the "On" button, but nothing happened. Then I noticed that when the lid is locked into place, a small pin in the handle goes into a small hole in the base. I took a wooden chopstick and poked it in this hole in the base, and the unit started running. I put the bowl and lid back on the unit and locked them into place, and this time the unit ran just fine. Yeah! I will remember this the next time my unit won't run even though I know that I've properly locked down the bowl and lid. Good luck!
